Ejo

Ancient land of Kor's creation

There is little on Ejo that is worth investigating at this time. The land is packed with dense rain forest. Pockets of civilization exist, but they are few and far between. Evidence of the ancient decadence of the Jade Empire is still prevalent. Worse are the rumors our party heard of nightmare monsters living in the ruins buried in the jungles. Our initial exploration of one of these nearly cost me my life (and we lost too many of our number for comfort). While they have some exotic spices, fruits and animals in this region, I doubt it would be valuable for colonization. I recommend we focus on trade negotiations with the locals to start with, and as our foothold grows, examine the value (if any) that Ejo may have for our beloved Empire.

Geography

Ejo is a land of green. The mountains in the center of the continent slope down into hills and canyons. Rivers and streams are abundant (and with the high rain fall can be powerful). There are rumors of a desert somewhere in the middle of the mountains, but no one has been able to confirm this strange fact.   Ejo has three prime locations for landings by ship. One to the north, where the city of Port Eneen is situated (and the pilgrim road begins). There are two bays on the western side, with the towns of Vecu and Kos are located.   In the far south the land is rocky and barren due to the cold tempuratures at these low latitudes. It is dangerous to navigate as well, with so much rocky crags and spires lying just beneath the surface.

Fauna & Flora

Most of Ejo is covered in dense rainforests and jungles. Unique plants and animals can be found in this land, including the highly desirable spice kinamon. Many of the plants and animals are poisonous. There are also rumors of giant sized reptiles and even dragons lying within it's depths.   The mountainous regions are also densely forested. Only along the southern coast do things change slightly, with a more barren landscape due to the low temperatures.

History

Ejo is known as the birthplace of life on Cadash. It is said to be the first land that Kor brought into creation the plants, animals and the first folk. This makes the land a holy place for some first folk.   During the age of the The Chaos Elves, an ancient power rose up and created the Jade Empire. Little information remains about this group. It is known for it's decadence, brutality and sacrifice of their own people to appease a dark version of Kor. Over the millennia there story has changed from a group of warped first folk, to warped elves to warped humans as being the creators of the Jade Empire. Relics brought from the area do little to help matters, as it seems that all three of the God's children are represented.   The Jade Empire was destroyed by the Tyrian Empire during the beginning of the Third Age (with the help of Red Talon ). After the victory, holy priests of Ashtyr build a massive temple to the goddess to keep the evil from ever returning. This massive temple was considered one of the wonders of the ancient world.   The cataclysm severed all ties between Reluria and Ejo. To the people of the northern continent, Ejo is a place of ancient mystery and danger. Travelers from the land are looked at in suspicion and wonder for their strange ways and culture.

Tourism

These days Ejo does see some First Folk coming to it to see the land of their great god Kor. There is a pilgrim road leading from the city of Port Eneen and plunging into the jungle. Those who take the trek speak of great natural beauty, dangerous river crossings and amazing animals. A monument to Kor lies in the jungle, a massive jade figure looking to the south east.
