Master at arms
This man dreams of gunpowder.
The Master-at-Arms is the person on a ship, or any other location, to be fair. That takes care of the maintenance of weapons and especially the firearms. From small signalling pistols to the large bore cannons, but also edged weapons such as knifes and boarding spikes. Sometimes they work alone, other times they have a complete team under them, with people specialised in just a single type of weapon.
Besides the maintenance, the master at arms also takes care of the stockpile of ammunition. That the gunpowder, granates and bullets are properly stored, and the magazines are refilled in time. And maybe the most important job of all is that the Master at arms is taking care of the training of the crew in the use of the weapons under their care.
Sunset Dawn
When the Pirate crew of the Narwhal "found" thirty-six tank cannon, they dreamed of installing it on the Super Yacht Antilope they caught and use that ship for pirating. To make this happen Rose made Heinrich von Bern join the crew with the promise of adventure. Heinrich was a former tank gunner and knew all about the guns they found. His knowledge and expertise made him an ideal Master at arms for the pirates, and he made the Guns of the Sunset Dawn a succes.
Heinrich works in close coördination with Michael the Boatswain to devide the crew on where they are to work. And with Bobby the Chief Engineer for technical assistance.
A very important job, I think. Otherwise things could go very wrong very quickly. O_O
