Clearborough
Clearborough was a city in the southwest of Chernin. It was a major port for the kingdom, providing uncontested sea access -- unlike the port facilities at Brottor. The city was large and bustling for most of its later history, and its wealth had begun to rival that of Lyesa before its destruction.
During The Cataclysms the region surrounding Clearborough and Yazar crumbled into the ocean and was destroyed. Many thousands of lives were lost, and the city's treasures and wealth were lost to the ocean floor. Intrepid treasure hunters and sanctioned adventurers occasionally comb the area trying to rescue what items they can. Rumor has it that several dragons have also taken notice of the ruins since the city's destruction.
Government
The city was run by a ruling council, the head of which was the local Baron. This was a noble title of the kingdom of Chernin that also granted some amount of local authority. The Baron was not an autocrat and could not pass policies or laws by themselves; they had to rely on cooperation with the rest of the council to administer the city's business.
Industry & Trade
Shipping, trade, and mercantile concerns were the main industries of the city. On the back of the growing merchant class, a thriving art trade began to flourish, as well as banking and financing for all manner of business interests.
Infrastructure
The city was a pretty cosmopolitan and modern city at the time of its destruction. It had a sophisticated sewer system and wide paved roads, as well as running water in parts of the city. The port facility was vast, with an array of machinery to aid in loading and unloading ships.
