The Eastkorn Rangers
(a.k.a. Delta Rangers)
INTRODUCTION
The Eastkorn Rangers are a group of assassins based in Abeon, available for hire under pretenses of no-affiliation mercenary practices. In reality, the rangers are a no-limits group of highly skilled rogues hellbent on a single mission: exterminate all magical beings in Abeon. It's leaders are steeped in devil-worshipping, including their ultimate assassin and lord, Axel Moran- one of the god-deniers. Extinguishing all merciful and warlocks is a step toward a godless and anarchical world.
MISSION
As a group of assassins, the goal of mission for the rangers is to kill their target and obliterate any mention of their existence. This principle is founded by Axel Moran, the leader of the Rangers, a self-proclaimed Freedist striving for a leaderless and godless Abeon. Once achieved, the Rangers hope to remove all ancient and 'god rendered' cultures from society. The Freedist movement is among the the the biggest threats to Abeonic culture and history, hoping to one day forever 'remake' the continent from the ground up- even if it requires burning down hill and city.
HISTORY
The Delta Rangers were formed in Finelli of 4688; however their unofficial formation came fifteen years prior. The King of Archia, Sephtis Elymas I, commissioned the sixteen most deadly assassins to stir up trouble in Ardune, which at that time, had just gained their independence from the flailing Empire. Although they were still under payroll of Archia, the group took funds from the Kingdom of Ardune to put down several peasant revolts in Keriot and the surrounding towns. They became widely feared throughout the Dark Western Territories, even as far south as Reykjov. After returning in 4683, Sephtis banished them to the Clifsby Terrain, where they dwindled and disbanded until 4688. When Ingerford once again fell into the Tsondalian Free Empire's hands, Sephtis recalled the group and they officially formed 'The Delta Rangers of Eastkorn'. The twenty-some odd rangers were led by a trio of young assassins, namely Axel Moran, a spitfire of 24 years with a hunger for vengeance and vigilante justice. After fighting undercover in Ingerford for a year, the Rangers diverted their attention away from the war to pursue the Merciful Gu'ure the Boldour, who's belief system (The Warrior's Heart) is contradictory to everything the Rangers stand for. Most zealous in this hunt was Axel, who fasted for thirty days during his pursuit. In 4744, the Freedist movement gained ground in eastern Tsonlar, and the Rangers set off the create trouble and promote the new ideology in Southbere. They remained somewhat dormant in the city and out of the global spotlight for nearly thirty years. When the trouble at Blackstone began to take light again, Axel who by now was the sole leader of the assassins, joined forces with the Blackstonian regiment to fight against the Dark Vanguard. Motivation unknown, Axel and his minions stuck deadly blows against Heraldsby in battles up and down the Blue Hills. However, thier presence diminished after the reemergence of Van the Warden, pitting the Rangers once again against everyone else, including Blackstone. They remained involved with the Protectors Guild, hampering or helping them as they investigated their mission, all the way until The Third Magic War of Abeon, where they were obliterated at the Siege of Kristar and the Battle of Red Hills by Neville Meyer and her battalions.
