Prince Mortius De Cerco Van Engelous

 INTRODUCTION 

 Mortius De Cerco Van Engelous is a third-tier lord of the Dark Islands, a group of isles smaller than the city of Kristar. Mortius was also known during his lifetime as 'The Angel of Darkness', an agent of evil who fought alongside The Arbiter and Axel Moran. His deeds are largely ambiguous, and his exact role among the rangers is unknown to historians. However, he is known to have played a huge role in the hunting down of the merciful during the return of the The Keepers of Kor'non and refracturing of Raphter's Bane. 

 CIRCUMSTANCES OF EARLY LIFE 

 Mortius was once a princely lord, but when The Queenshire of Ecsaev conquered his uncle's lands, his people were exterminated and he was left a beggar in Ardune. Wanting to flee the dark east, still fearing the Vei would find and murder him; Mortius took on jobs as a mercenary under the alias "The Dark Angel". He eventually was recruited into the Delta Rangers in 4661, a staggering reputation preceeding him already. It was here that he would meet Axel, a man he regarded highly as "the only man who will ever truly understand my plight". 

 THE VEI 

 Mortius made his hatred of the entire Vei species a secret, and would often lead the missions which regarded Vei targets or would land them in the Dark East. His final mission was to hunt down a trio of merciful and recover the two halves of Raphter's Bane. Unbeknownst to him, a Vei by the name of Svynhyde Stevenson acted as their guide. In an ironic twist of fate, Svyn would kill Mortius in a duel on the cliffs of the Clifsby Terrain. Mortius was the last of the Dark Islands people, making the extinction of his country sealed at the hands of a Vei.
