Mikal, Hex

Hex Mikal is the son of Mikal, Karl and Mikal, Suze. He was born on Pandora Station and spent the majority of his life there. His mother died in childbirth due to complications of a neurodegenerative syndrome triggered by a faulty prosthetic. He was raised by his father, who relied heavily on the help of friends and others on the station. Bowman, Deb, Bowman, Don, Wolf, Fred, and Wolf, Geri played an especially significant role in this. Hex's first crib was a sock drawer in the Wolf's hab unit. Hex was educated through the station's occupational apprenticeship program, specializing in electronics and programing but scoring high marks in fabrication, as well. Hex's early life was largely unremarkable in terms of interactions with station authorities, a result of his father's desire for him to "keep his nose clean". This changed as The Struggle on Pandora Station escalated, not because Karl wanted his son involved in the troubles but because Hex felt compelled to involve himself.
After a brief stint wandering the sector doing piece-work, Hex has recently arrived in Rogers Landing. He was hired by Holmes, Marcus to work as a technician and trouble-shooter to improve the efficiency of operations in Rogers Landing. In this role, Hex is nominally under the supervision of Subba, Silas, chief of Power & Engineering.

• Raised entirely on Pandora Station, Hex has a much slighter build than either of his parents.
• Hex is especially close to his Uncle Fred, who taught him most of what he knows about machinery and repair.
• A lot of Hex's knowledge comes from Fred and Karl. His knowledge is significantly beyond what would be expected from his formal training.
• He has "his mother's temper".
