Royal Armory Organization in Pallo | World Anvil

Royal Armory

When Amana united under a single monarchy, the Royal Armory was formed from exemplary members of the militaries of the three nations on Amana. It was formed to protect the public from threats and corruption.

Structure

The Royal Armory is divided into three chevrons, with one being the lowest and three being the highest.
-Chevron one is the squires and knights
-Chevron two is the elite knights and elder knights
-Chevron three is the palace guards, special duty knights, and magisters.
No one magister is in command of the Armory. Instead, each leads cooperatively with the others, dividing various tasks and responsibilities amongst each other as they are able. This flexibility accounts for a variety of situations in which one might be more or less able to handle work. An edict is being drafted to temporarily have a single magister in charge in some circumstances, but it has been a lower priority and unsatisfactory.

Public Agenda

The Royal Armory is a check against corruption. While it was comprised of soldiers from all three nations on Amana, it has since been a volunteer force fully separated from the Amani military. While knights receive martial training, their purpose is to serve the needs of the communities of Amana directly. Legally, in war time, knights are considered non-combatants.   In service to the people of Amana, the knights offer much. They volunteer time and services at religious centers. They provide support in recovery from storms. They help people who need a hand with simple or complex tasks. They mediate minor legal issues. They protect against threats of any size. They donate time and money to charitable efforts. Those who serve in the Royal Armory do so to give while they are able.   Their devotion to serving the people is how they managed to create righteous warriors of faith without requiring devotion to a single deity. Nepi is considered the patron deity of the Armory, but not necessarily the deity worshipped by all of the knights.

History

As the unification of Amana was being negotiated, it was recommended that an organization be created to act as a safeguard for the people of Amana. The name was chosen as a play on words, with armory's many definitions being used to show its complexity. Heraldry, storage of arms, training facility, and an array of resources for a particular purpose.    Soon after Amana was united, and the first monarch crowned, the Armory was formed. The first Magister, Magister Lutum, signed the Armory into existence with the first Monarch as part of the terms of unification. Soon after, Magister Justinian was signed into the armory as one of the founders, along with ranking members of the militaries who transitioned to the Armory - Magisters Lux, Scutum, and Confido.
