Personal history

She was raised by her mother. A week before her birth her father was forced to leave Ilengal. Her mother provided her all she could and pushed her to excel at everything she did. After completing her education, her mother introduced her to an old elf who became her mentor. They taught her how to be a spy and prepared her for the Ilengal Academy of Embassy and Espionage. With their recommendation and an impressive display of skill, she was accepted into the academy.   She trained and studied hard. She consistently ranked in the top 10% of her class. Her field training involved immersing herself in the various cultures of the Wyldlands to get a comprehensive understanding of the cuurent state of affairs around her. She was able to provide her teachers with impressively detailed reports on the governments on the island and even predicted a handful of events.   Upon graduation she was offered a commission in the Ministry of Intelligence branch of the Ilengalese Military Consult Corps (IMCC). She accepted and began a long career of espionage and intelligence. She often found it difficult to receive credit for her work or be taken seriously. When word came that Amana was attempting to unify she requsted to get assigned to Amana. Her request was accepted, but she was sent as ambassador. She was assigned a promising student from the Academy to mentor while on mission.   On the short journey to Amana she tested her mentor to see what skills she already had. She was impressed with the skill of the promising young academic. While in Amana, she tasked her mentee with gathering information about specific targets and remaining hidden the entire time. She would find time between important meetings to gather information and train her student. It was difficult to balance, but she was adept at it.   By the time the agreements were completed, and the new monarchy of Amana was established, she had an incredibly in depth threat analysis of the country. Her guess was that it wouldn't take long - maybe 200 years - before the Royal Armory had to depose a monarch, become over-burdened, or even have its own internal conflict. Her only hope was that an Ilengalese sorceror who chose to emigrate to Amana, Theodas Shalen, would prevent any catastrophic political events before they became problems.   When she returned home she was awarded a promotion and given a position in the Ministry of Intelligence's offices at the High Court of Ilengal. She accepted, excited to get a chance to work on influential matters. Unfortunately, as lowest rank, a relative nobody, and a woman, she was often overlooked, unheard, and uncredited. For over 100 years she did her work, fighting against a system that was almost too eager to repress her. Then the warforfed struck. During that time, though, she found another elf with whom she could commiserate. He respected and admired her, and they complimented each other perfectly.   When the dust settled from the attacks she was visited by her original mentor, even more ancient now than he was then. He pulled her aside and said that there was someone who wanted to meet with her. She followed him down many halls, past most of the offices and rooms she was used to entering, until they reached the office of the Domin. Inside, Domin Syneth waited alone, at her desk.   Awestruck, her mentor spoke first. He said that he was feeding all of her intelligence and treat reports to the Domin personally. The Domin thanked her and said that her reports kept Ilengal one step ahead of everyone else and has been instrumental in policies, foreign and domestic, since she began. And this was exactly why she was called to see her that day.   The warforged attacks proved that Ilengal cannot be an isolated oasis any more. Threats like Vishik and Arkus will happen again and Ilengal can only protect itself by being aware and a part of the world at large. She said that a legacy politician, recently accepted as a foreign ambassador, was the perfect opportunity to gain more information about Pallo's peoples. She wanted Lyndis to be his adjutant ambassador to help with negotiations from a military and intelligence viewpoint, but also to gather information and deliver threat analyses of everywhere they went. And their first stop would be Obor.   She was incredibly grateful and excited, taking the job immediately. Worried about what this would mean for her family, she asked if she could bring her husband. The Domin and her mentor agreed that it should be safe enough and would be good for keeping up appearances.   She went home and immediately informed her husband. Excitedly, they prepared for the journey. A few days later they boarded the hired vessel for the envoy. For almost 20 years they traveled throughout Obor, Ting Xa, The Slumbering Isles, and Espiria, meeting dignitaries and gathering intelligence. They traveled back to Ilengal between locations, but they couldn't stay for long. While in Samaria they had a daughter, Mialli  After years of travel, it seemed like time for a break. They The day after Blessings 20 her husband chartered private passage home. The following day, Lyndis and Mialli boarded the Red Horizon one last time to return home.
