The Blood Camp Raid

An assault led by the Blood Walkers Maraudersagainst the confusely named Blood-Camps of Makarith.

The Conflict

Prelude

Over the last three years the Blood Walkers had kept a silent profile in the region. Their primary target was not a caravan, but a camp whose occupants they could ransom for great amount of riches and supplies as well as recruiting new troops. However, in 560 they managed to secure intel that increased the value of the Blood-Camp tenfold, namely the presence of subdued Human Hero. With the young recruits as hostage and a powerful foreigner on thier side a large portion of the organization accelerated their plans and sent the BLood Feet, Blood Hands, and New Bloods groups in their entirety.   Meanwhile the Camp itself had received very promising recruits this year and was completely ignorant of the encroaching menace. However unbeknowst to both sides, the Havok of Commander Ar Vari, who had visited the area a few weeks past, was already on his way back to relocate the Hero elsewhere.

Battlefield

The battle occured on two front, or perhaps three if one counts the small group of recruits facing off with a group of Walkers within the forest:
  • At the northern edge of the camp with small walls atop dirt mounds and a couple towers, all guarded.
  • At the southern portion of the camp with the gates to the compound were located.
  • Conditions

At the time of the attack, the Camp itself didn't have optimal fortifications. At its best it didn't bother with Fortress-type defenses due to its being located in the arid east of the Fana Forest where monsters aren't common place. But mostly due to its condition as training grounds it was at its core a simple encampment where recruits build and destroy defenses on a daily basis. Having learned the schedule of the camp, the MArauders attacked during a period where the least amount of walls and pallissades had been erected.

    The Engagement

The capture of recruits occured early in the evening when recruits decided to test the legend of The Cave of Antinost and stumbled upon patroling Marauders who failed to avoid detection.

But the prime battle began with a volley of arrow loosed by the Marauders on the northern battlefield after sneaking up sufficiently closely. The alert was given and the whole camp prepared for engagement.
