The Dignitary

The Dignitary was an inn and tavern located on Estu Island in Qoza.

Features

The nicest establishment on the island, the Dignitary was a two-storey building of rain-washed sandstone. It boasted vibrant vegetation, including a sycamore tree growing in the common room. Its three broad staircases lead to its luxurious suites, the finest of which – the Arqon's Suite – overlooked the Palette from its balcony. The door to the Arqon's Suite was magically locked, the innkeep possessing the only key.

History

Founded in 463 1A, the Dignitary was older, even, than the nation of Arqozath.
Before the collapse of the Arqozathi government in 32 2A, the Dignitary was where visiting ambassadors and notables were traditionally hosted. The Arqon's Suite was specifically reserved for friends of the city's current arqon.

Inhabitants

A storied institution across Qoza's history, the Dignitary had changed hands many times over the years.

• Yezri (male human) A disgraced noble, Yezri owned and operated the tavern in 67 2A. A long-sufffering man, he endured the drinking and destruction of many rowdy patrons. He was known to practice the dying Arqozathi custom of cross-dressing.

Campaigns

The Menagerie

• Vhakizla: After an embarrassing defeat at Tharzavok in Athson 67 2A, the Menagerie licked its wounds at the Dignitary for five days, racking up quite a bill. Commander Chimera locked herself in the Arqon's Suite for much of this time. While she was attacked by cutthroats hired by the Son of Tharzavok, the drunken Chimera signed her fateful contract with Vhakizla.
