Tharzavok

Tharzavok was a large tyranny located on the Thunder Coast of eastern Sapphros. Named for Tharzavok the Tremendous, the nation was characterized by its pugnacious history, constantly engaging in border wars with its neighbors.

History

First Age

In 690 1A, Thazavok's southern provinces rebelled, naming themselves a soveriegn tyranny under the newly-emerged Arqozath the Audacious. In the midst of a war with desert herds, Tharzavok had little opportunity to respond but the blue dragon herself, so incensed, flew south and attacked Arza (modern day Qoza) from the air. For centuries, the two tyrannies would squabble over their borders, the dragons occasionally clashing in the air, but the issue was never ultimately decided – until the Night Wars came to their door.

Night Wars

When the Thanasian armies arrived on Arqozath's southern border, Tharzavok the Tremendous saw her opportunity. Sweeping down on the capital of Zath in the thickest of the fighting, Tharzavok attacked Arqozath and the two dragons fought bitterly in the sky over the battle. In the end, Tharzavok was victorious, but only briefly, for the older dragon was too wounded to escape the clutching undead hordes. Tharzavok the Tremendous died in 30 2A.
Shortly thereafter, the tyranny collapsed completely, too many humans fleeing the advance of Thanatos to the south.

Second Age

In Year 60 2A, a dragonborn warlord, calling himself the Son of Tharzavok, took power in the broken tyranny and began recruiting mercenaries – and dragonborn in particular – to his cause. One of his first actions was to prosecute a war on the shattered remnants Arqozath to the south, on whom he blamed on the death of his "mother".
