Night Wars

The Night Wars was the collective term given to a series of global conflicts between the living and the dead that devastated Ondûn at the end of the First Age and beginning of the Second.

Etymology

Known by hundreds of names – the War of the Risen, the Crawl – in dozens of cultures, the origin of the term "night war" was unknown but was universally recognized by all nations and people involved in the war. Perhaps due to their vampiric commanders, the armies of the dead never attacked under sunlight and typically only advanced at night.
