Arqozath the Audacious

Arqozath the Audacious was an adult blue dragon and the dracoqueen of Arqozath from 690 1A – 30 2A. Reared in secret by the aristocracy of Qoza, Arqozath was a defiant dracoqueen, leading her people to rebellion against Tharzavok and eventually dying by her hand.

History

Arqozath was born on Gnoson 31, Year 689 1A in Qoza, Arqozath, emerging from dracomorphosis as a young adult blue dragon. Her existence was kept secret by the city's Circlet, intending to rebel against Tharzavok and install her as their new monarch. She was unveiled and crowned a few months later, on Borson 1, Year 690 1A, the same day Arqozath was founded as an independent dracostate. She claimed all the lands south of Arqo as her territory, much to the chagrin of Tharzavok the Tremendous. The older dragon swept down from her territory and laid waste to Qoza but the young dracoqueen slipped away, smuggled south to the newly-constructed city of Zath. There she would rule for the rest of her short reign. An adventurous sort, Arqozath was frequently away from her kingdom, winging around the world on some new enterprise and leaving the rule to her capable Circlet. Her reign came to an end in 30 2A, near the end of the Night Wars. As the Thanasian armies prepared to besiege Zath, Tharzavok the Tremendous made a surprise attack, forcing Arqozath to abandon her defense to meet the older dragon in the sky. The two fought a fierce aerial battle, one that ended with Arqozath's death and plummet into the Bight., While victorious, Tharzavok was too wounded to fly away and was soon overwhelmed by the undead hordes. Arqozath's dracostate did not long outlive her, Zath falling within a day and most of her people fleeing north.

Personality

Called the Audacious, Arqozath was raised to lead a rebellion. Her willfulness was occasionally difficult for her Circlet to curb and she would often depart the court for months or years at a time, drawn elsewhere by some ne adventure. She was easily bored by political intrigue and happy to leave the running of her dracostate to mere mortals.
