Estu Island
Estu Island was a harbor island in the city of Qoza. Located on the southern end of the Palette, it was an estuary island made from sediment that flows down the Khromark and into Tharza's Bight. Estu Island was Qoza's rowdy dockside district and the center its prosperous dye trade.
Geography
Estu Island was one long street, filled with wharfs, jetties, cargo warehouses and dockside taverns. Thanks to the perpetual rainstorm that clouds the skies over Qoza, the buildings, foliage and streets of Estu Island were as multicolored as the water of the Palette. Many of the buildings were scrawled with prone graffiti, smeared with fingers and implements on the dye-slick walls. Important locations on Estu Island included:- The Dignitary: The primary tavern on the island, the Dignitary once hosted visiting ambassadors and notables from all over the world. It was known for its vibrant foliage and its luxurious suites, the largest of which – the Arqon's Suite – was once reserved for the city's leadership.
- The Scorpion's Sting: Once a pharos at the end of a stone pier, the Scorpion's Sting was a notable revolutionary bar. Named not for the insect but instead for the illegal dragon-killing siege weapon hidden inside, it was a place for young radicals to meet and discuss ideas.
- Zah Potency: When Zelene Silvers took the treasure ship Zah Potency in 67 2A, she ran the vessel aground on Estu Island and headquartered her celebration there. The moldering hulk remained there for years, a favored hideout for Qoza's disreputables.
History
Second Age
Even following the collapse of the Arqozathi government in 32 2A, Qoza remained vital to the international dye trade and Estu Island its staging ground. Though the lawlessness naturally attracted criminals and malcontents, legitimate merchants continued to do business, however warily, at the port for decades to come.
Campaigns
The Menagerie
- Vhakizla: Licking their wounds from the embarrassing discharge in Tharzavok, the Menagerie "celebrated" on the streets of Estu Island for five nights in Athson 67 2A before departing for Vhakizla. During these celebrations, mercenaries of the company burned down the Scorpion's Sting as retribution for a perceived slight.
