Elephant Sankari

Unique among the sankari, the elephant sankari was engineered not for function nor form, but for spiritual purposes. In the 22nd century, Neo-Hindu scientists began to work on "reincarnation vessels". The Neo-Hindus believe that enlightened souls can better inhabit certain forms, particularly elephants. Hatti brahman are not an unusual sight where Neo-Hindus practice their faith.

Hatti Traits

  • Size +1: Hatti are enormous, and gain +1 to size, toughness, and increase their maximum Strength one step. They need specialized clothing and armor that is difficult to find.

  • Trunk: The hatti's large muscular trunk can be used to manipulate objects. They have +1 extra combat gear slot, and +1 reach.

  • Intelligence: Hatti have large brains, which increases their Smarts by one die and increases their maximum Smarts to d12+1.

  • Ponderous: Hatti are large and slow and have a -1 to Agility rolls.

  • Slow: Hatti suffer a -1 to pace, and their running die is reduced by one step.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Thick grey-green skin covers most of the hatti. Their trunk is large and muscular, but puts a lot of pressure on the spine, which is why hatti prefer to be sedentary. Prone to great size and strength, they cut lumbering, impressive figures.

Additional Information

Average Intelligence

Hatti, unlike all other sankari, actually live longer than junya. When they lead communities, the hatti become record keepers and passers of knowledge. Vessels for bodhisattva or not, the large wrinkled craniums of hatti mean they have excellent memories and capacity for intelligence.

Civilization and Culture

Culture and Cultural Heritage

Having been bred for a particular social role, hatti often accept their positions as spiritual leaders, but not all do. Hatti looking for their own path often become spacers or engineers. Even Neo-Hindus, who venerate the hatti, admit that while a hatti vessel might be more likely to accept a bodhisattva, clearly not all hatti are bodhisattva.
