Krakros Character in Nimenra | World Anvil

Krakros

A dark blue cowl looks down upon me, judging silently, executing with patience and forethought.   The statue hides the God's eyes well but despite it, I feel them pierce me as if they were uncowled and looking into my soul.   I do respect the Gods, no one more than Krakros regardless of what others around me seem to think of Him. He is no simple God of the Dead and Night... No, Krakros is more than that. He is waiting for everyone in the end. But His compassion and His judgment... that is what I respect the most.

The God of the Dead, Darkness, Medicine, Night and Protection. Considered partly a part of the The Eight Pantheons Krakros is most known for being the one God of the Necur, their protector, called "the Father" or "the Night's Sage". Unlike any of the main Eight, He took in the Necur races during the aftermath of the War of the Gods. Eventually, He also came to be accepted in The Eight Pantheons as the God of the Dead due to the fact He, according to religious scholars and priests, also holds the keys and locks to the afterlife and realm of the dead.

The God of the Dead

Krakros is seen as the God of the Dead, not the God of Death. No single accepted God has ever claimed the title to control the authority of Death.
Krakros, according to myth, was close to doing so during the War of the Gods. With His magical abilities, He was able to prevent death to some degree or even raise them to do His bidding. This put Him at odds with Orios, Reliona and many others during the violent era so long ago. According to the Creidema, They feared Him and control over the living's fate, possibly even the Gods themselves. The side that Krakros would be supporting would utilise unspeakable abilities and powers.
However, it is not fully known to what degree He was and can use these abilities. For what was the case, Krakros never used the ability to raise the dead in any manner as for conflict.

The Necur's God

While a part of The Eight Pantheons as one of the Gods who are included, Krakros has a very special status for the Necur as their one "true" God. In the Creidema, Krakros is the only diety that is encompassed and other Gods are ignored or set aside. Krakros attained this special status by the Necur due to His choice to protect and save the race when The Eight Pantehons' Gods and others chose to leave them after The War of the Gods. Together with the God Nirvast that died during The Protection, the Necur is thankful as a species to have survived into the current age.
How does one explain Krakros' importance to us? Nirvast prevented our destruction, and Krakros took care of us when we were left by everyone else. That should be enough.

Author's Notes

Feedback on Krakros is very welcome in this case. He is supposed to be a dual deity, one respected and revered by Humans while to the Necur He is their God with the big G for many. I hope this comes across as I develop Krakros more and more. Any feedback regarding how I can show this I am especially greatfull to have!
