Enchantment Magic

Well, I know little of this myself and asking wizards and hedge mages results in little information. Enchantment, or imbuement, of magic into items is a poorly understood way of magic. The magical artefacts that exist do have some connection to the Gods or the era of Jorvik and before that. Few newer imbued magical items exist... The Dwarves have their runic magic, a form of enchantment magic, but to all the others, it seems to be a lost art.

One of the many arts of magic is the ability to "enchant" an object or imbued it with magical power or abilities. This, however, seems to be a hard achievement for both Human and Demon wizards without using wast amounts of magical power without the threat of death or serious injury lingering on the enchanter. Nimenra is still home to many magic artefacts but no new are produced by any known factions on the continent.

Magical Improvment

Many have tried to achieve the possibility of creating items with imbued magic. From swords that burst into flames to keys that are not able to be used except by a chosen few, the possibility to enchant objects with the powers of magic is as some schoolers believe endless. But the fact of the matter is that the ability to imbue magic into items is an ability few are able to perform without a high cost. Transfering magic permanently into a object requires effort beyond even the natural magic of the Demons. Peforming small enchantments that are non-permenent are possible by a magic user with good magic control. Without the control the magic runs risks of being harmful or have unintended effects. These enchantments lasts for no longer than a day most of the time. The effort to do these puts a lot of strain on the user which in turn deters most wizards, mages and magic users from practising enchantment beyond studying its possibilities and attempt to refine it into a art.

A lost art?

The question remains on how magical artifacts exists on Nimenra in the first place since there are obvious such artefacts that exists. Many of them are attributed to the Gods, The Eight Pantheons' own... or not.... One example is The Red Wind, a sword that is said to have been Reliona's own and given to the The Heroine of Reliona. The sword has magical abilites recorded and the sword does not rust or show any signs of damage or use even after thousands of years. There are a number of magic artifacts, however, that is said to have been created by both Humans, Demons and Dwarves alike. These can't be expalined away as the Gods doing. Theory aries from that the art of enchanting items eaither died out or somehow was lost over time for unknown reasons. Others have sepculated some as the remnants of another civilization that is lost since times forogtten... a number of ruins can prove that much might be true.
