The Salt Farms
The Salt Farms is a great salt marsh outside the city walls, west of the Libben. A semi-cultivated swathe of land that grows saltrice, a coarse but nutritious food that fills the stomachs of most of Hachenberg’s peasantry. The land is farmed by those who live in Stilt Village, north of the paddys.

Description
The Salt Farms are hectares upon hectares of marshy stalks which get flooded with the bidiurnal tides. At some points in the day, it’s a forest of saltrice reeds, being worked over by teams of farmers, other times nothing but the rickety structures of Stilt Village as the farms themselves have been swallowed by the ocean. Stilt Village itself is made from half rotten wood, cut from the black willow trees that grow in the inland swamp north east from them. If one was to explore the area, hidden among rocks or in shallower waters, tiny docks where rowboats can come and go without being seen by prying eyes.Demographic
The Salt Farms have the lowest population per square metre in all of Hachenberg and the people who are there are farmers, sefs to the Mochans. A quiet, solemn and insulative people whose loyalties are to the land and to their families. Though, it is well known that once you’ve earned the respect of the salt rice farmers they’ll treat you as one of their own.Majority Influence
The land is owned by the Mochan family, the current ruling family of Albion, though anyone of the Mochan household rarely visits. Who do visit are the various smuggling groups who use the quiet marsh land as an easy way to get things in and out of the city which has recently been capitalised on by the Smythe Family.Services
