The Old Reserve

The Old Reserve is one of the regions that belonged to Westbank until it became an area in its own right. It was originally a settlement for retired soldiers who could still be called upon in times of war. Now it’s populated by the descendants of those who took the Grand Duke's coin and invested it into their children’s future. Due to this, The Old Reserve is full of carpenters, small smithies, tanners, coopers, tailors and other crafts folk

Description

The Old Reserve is on the Libben, next to Eresti Bridge to the east of the city with a demographic verging into the merchant classes. The buildings aren’t richly adorned, but well made and maintained, made from actual building materials. The Constabulary can often be seen around the Old Reserve, usually taking bribes from the various merchants as a way of ensuring security on their specific business, since they cannot afford mercenary guards.

Demographic

The Old Reserve are the upper classes of the western settlement but, the upper class here is still regarded as peasantry everywhere else in the city. The Old Reserve is populated by traders and crafts folk who are the descendants of the soldiery who once lived there and skilled foreigners who arrive on the docks without the funds to afford to live in nicer parts of town.

Majority Influence

The Constabulary has a powerful presence in the Old Reserve, with the residents rich enough to afford some personal protection from the city watch, but cannot afford mercenaries. The Traders League also has a powerful presence, the consortium has a lot of influence in the city and the various dinners and balls they throw are a great way to find a patron who might help expand your business.
