The Maldeves

The Maldeves is the largest of all the continents, and is a mish-mash hot-pot of different kingdoms, races, and cultures. The largest, most dominant kingdom of Unnafof exists on this continent, stretching across the desert landscape and splitting the continent in two, though other prominent kingdoms like Groalfarl, Bundon, and Northanpuf are also found on this continent.

Geography

The Maldeves is the largest continent on Nahgia. It has two icy peaks at the northern and southern reaches, with taiga forests where it isn't a full tundra. The north also has the longest mountain range in the world, which stretches across most of the northern border. The east and west coasts are mostly covered in forests, with the eastern coast being more tropical with higher humidity than the west. The centre of the continent contains the Maldeve desert, the hottest region of the planet and the home to the Orc Horde. Surrounding a large part of the Maldeve desert, but mainly to the north and the east, are vast open plains of grasslands and shrublands. Sweeping across the south of the desert is a large stretch of hot savanna. There are many mountain ranges that scar the land. The area below the desert of eastern rainforestsis known as the Tartiera Aggregate, whereas above the deserts is known as the Northern Maldeves. This separation is due to the sheer size of the continent and the distinct cultural differences between the north and south.

Fauna & Flora

A variety of creatures can be found across the continent. A larger variety is found within the rainforests, though a rich biodiversity can be found from the desert to the taiga. Creatures that can be expected within the various biomes are present, from lizards to birds to mammals. Most biomes are also inhabited by a variety of dangerous beasts and monsters, presenting significant dangers to all outside of secured cities or roads. The monsters range from the desert's purple worms and giant scorpions, to the rocs and harpies of the mountains, and the aurochs and chimeras of the grasslands, to the dryads and grung tribes of the forests. Not all are immediately hostile, but many are, especially as the Lifeforce grows weak. The instability causes disuptions to the amount of food animals can find, resulting in many starving carnivours willing to try and take on travellers, and those of a more magical nature are affected in their strength or behaviour. Some become corrupted or go mad as the The Weave and their tether to it frays and unravels.

Natural Resources

This continent has many mountain ranges, and is thus one of the major distributers of ores and stones. This ranges from iron to the rare magis ore. The large population of dwarves further boosts the mining industry, especially in the northern peaks. The forests have strong lumber industry, and the east is highly agricultural due to the vast grasslands. In the fields of the eastern grasslands, various grains are grown such as wheats, oats, barley, rye, and hops. A strong brewery industry accompanies the agricultural, farming industry of the east. Spices are also a popular produce in the area, with the most famous and popular being the hot ghostfire peppers of the three-pronged cactus found in Unnafof. Different regions hold different values over resources. Water is the most valuable thing within the desert, whilst Groalfarl inhabitants value magis ore very highly. Various trading routes criss-cross the landscape between the various kingdoms.
Maldeve Deserts:
Maldeve Desert
This is a stretch of desert across the centre of the largest continent, the Maldeves. It's dominated by savanna and sand dunes. It's also the stretch of land controlled by the Orc Hordes.
Maldeve Forests:
Maldeve Forest
This is the most forested section of the Northern Maldeves, the largest of the continents. Being quite a large continent, the climate varies from the snowy taiga to the north, to tropical weather further south. The eastern coast also experiences regular rainfall and rainforests, sustained by the sea currents and correlating wind currents. It's populated by a lot of dwarf and human kingdoms which have strong trading connections, but also the eastern-most reaches of the orc horde territories that plague much of the Northern Maldeves.
Maldeve Peaks:
Maldeve Peaks
This is northern section of the Maldeve, the largest continent. It's very cold, and mostly dominated by ice and snow. It also has the longest continuous mountain range in the world. It's very harsh to live this far north, but it's not as far north as Rosewater. There are a few kingdoms that have been able to carve out a living in these barren icy wastelands.
Maldeve Plains:
Maldeve Plains
This is the most Eastern coast of the largest continent, the Maldeve. Its' terrain is mostly grasslands, shrublands, and savana, as well as a few forests further south. It also has many mountain ranges rich in valuable materials. There are many different kingdoms that interact within this area. It has a lot of racial diversity as well, resulting in very rich cultures.
Aggregate Valley:
Aggregate Valley
This is a section of the largest continet, the Maldeves. It's the most eastern edge, and is also the most populated area of the Tartiera Aggregate. It's a rich hub of culture and trade. It's dominated with tropical forests and rainforests, though is also borders on the Maldeve deserts and the accompanying Orc Horde territories.
Choridos Impass:
Choridos Impass
This is a part of the largest continent, the Maldeves. It connects the Soudier Tip to the Maldeve Deserts, and is part of the Tartiera Aggregate. There are a few forests that reach this far down, but it's also affected by the colder climate of the Soudier Tip.
Soudier Tip:
Soudier Tip
This is the southern most point of the largest continent, the Maldeves. It's part of the southern section of that continent, known as the Tartiera Aggregate. It's dominated by ice and snow, with long bitter nights over half of the year, and slightly warmer day over the other half. There are a few settlements that manage to carve out a living despite the cold, but it's not an easy living.
