Floating Islands

Three suspended landmasses floating a few miles above Ile's northern sea makes up the Floating Islands, the largest being Sootbury Isle. There is also Steamhaven and Tattingwall. The islands were first explored and settled in 1113 DD, and became the home of the 11th Hour Willis Wonderful shortly after. The Islands are now host to the Hour's famous Clockwork Workshop, The Corrections House, Blue Glass Shrine, and Kelemvor Temple.

Geography

The islands are irregular in shape, a small mountain range splitting Sootbury Isle in half, and a gentle curve of hills following the shape of the smaller island of Steamhaven. Both Sootbury and Tattingwall play host to large bodies of water, gathering in the low valleys as lakes and running as rivers replenished by the seasonal rains off the side of the islands and back to the sea.

Natural Resources

The Islands are rich in resources for their small size, are easily defensible from all but airborne forces, and survive on a healthy output of lumber and mineral exports. Sootbury's Breakwater Mining outputs large quantities of steel and iron to Ebonwatch and Knoxden, and the Venture Market plays host to a menagerie of businesses that fish, hunt, and export the Isles' other resources. Sootbury also contains the Steamworks, and produces over half the produce in Halosis year-round.
