Sootbury
Home to both the Clockwork Workshop and Cadwell House, Sootbury is seat to a large amount of the 11th Hour's power in Ile. Enforced by the presence of The Corrections House, Sootbury is well-regulated and protected, with the Steamworks producing a large amount of crops available in Northern Ile. Sootbury does regular trade with the nearby hamlets of Steamhaven and Tattingwall, and often sends large caravans of ships between the Floating Islands and the cities of Knoxden and Ebonwatch.

History
Founded in 1113 DD by Bentley Cadwell, Sootbury grew from a private estate to a full-fledged city over the next six hundred years, the jewel of Northern Ile carefully shepherded by the Eleventh Hour and Cadwells. Unfortunately late in 1783 DD, Sootbury, along with the rest of the Floating Islands, fell into the Sunderwin Sea.
