Biological parent of Thrain II
Thror was born in the Grey Mountains and while still young in 2589 T.A. he saw his Father Dain I slain by a Cold Drake at the gates of their Hall. After burying his Father it became apparent that the dragons made it unbearable to live here. So he lead a portion of the dwarves back to Erebor where he became King Under the Mountain. Things were very good until that fateful autumn day in 2770 T.A. when Smaug, The Magnificent came and seized their hall under the The Lonely Mountain. Thror had seemingly been trapped in the mountain and all were pleased when he found his people in the plains around the lonely lake a few days later. He would never reveal how he had escaped when so many did not. He lead his people south to DUNLAND, where they would dwell for over 20 years.
In 2790 T.A. he abdicated to his son Thrain II. He gave him his RING OF POWER, and a map and key to the Lonely Mountain. This told of a secret passage hidden from detection both on the mountains exterior and in the heart of the halls interior. This had allowed him to escape the mountain, and he thought it might aid his son in retaking their Kingdom.
With that he left with a lone companion NAR. He travelled to MORIA, and there he called out the King of the Orcs AZOG. Azog answered his call and killed Thror. Nar returned to Thrain with this information, and this lead to the WAR OF DWARVES AND ORCS .
