The Plots of Lothrim's Daughter

Some of the inspiration and details are derived from Colombia Games.

Dyalne Dulye, art by Artbreeder
In 712TR, Dyalne Dulye, a Viran (Grandmistress) in the Savorya Magical Society and grand aunt of the King of Melderyn, was named renegade by a decree of the secretive but powerful Council of Eleven.

Dyalne, for many years, was an active proponent of the Kingdom of Melderyn and believed that it should play a more active role in the affairs of the neighboring Harnic kingdoms. She believed they would eventually merge into one large state and directly threaten the Wizard's Isle. Many of her proposals involved interference in the various kingdoms and creating wars to distract and keep them weak. However, to Dyalne's frustration, the Council of Eleven and King Chunel Toron strongly rejected each plan. In the decade before being named renegade, she stopped advancing her "wild ideas" to undermine the smaller kingdoms and instead focused on researching Lothrim the Foulspawner, his lost empire, his magic, and above all, the nature of his Orcish minions. Her studies revealed that the Orc hordes can be controlled.

The reason for Dyalne being named renegade has not been disclosed. However, she was denounced by her twin sister Eilyn Dulye, possibly after some nefarious plot was uncovered. When Dyalne fled the Chantry of the Guild of Arcane Lore, she stole powerful arcane and earthmaster relics, including some said to be possessed by Lothrim. She is believed to have also acquired a Ring of Domination, able to twist the mind of anyone. The use of this powerful relic would be grounds to be named renegade. She is also thought to be using magic to extend her life and disguise her identity.

Dyalne is the most wanted spell-caster on the List of Renegade Spellcasters and is the most dangerous. She is actively being hunted by theĀ  Order of the White Hand, as are her many associates, other wizards she has turned to her side either by persuasion, duplicity, or magical charms.

Most of her known plots involve Orcs or the recovery of Earthmaster Artifacts. The White Hand believes she is using the pseudonym of Lothrim's Daughter. In the decade or more since she has been on the run, the Orc Kingdoms have grown more powerful and shown signs of coordination. The Uthriem Roliri and more astute leaders of the Dwarven Kingdom of Azadmere have noticed this and are concerned.

Plots Uncovered

The White Hand and others have uncovered various plots. These include.

The Nest

Dyalne's agent Richemanus Hyrdeman was tasked with recovering the Nest, a repository of Orc Eggs held in a magical stasis. The Nest was secreted near Sirion by one of Lothrim's henchmen, Atarossa, a.k.a the Eggkeeper, six hundred of years ago. It contained viable eggs from several extinct species of Foulspawn. Lothrim's Daughter had plans to resurrect these lost foulspawn races. The White Hand Agent Jolanta uncovered the plot and put an end to it, killing Richemanus and destroying the nest.

Spreading Foulness

Orcs have been spotted where they have no right to be. Dyalne has access to a vessel that deposits small orc broods around Harnic Isles and beyond. The Daughter hopes that some of these outposts and colonies will eventually grow and become powerful. One example was a small Gargu-Araki (small or spotted orc) colony that was found and eliminated in the Turmale Hills, near Sarkum Castle.

The Stairs of Grief

The Kingdom of Huxuth, a brutal Orcish Kingdom located in the Felsha Mountains near Misyn, has grown powerful and threatened Ilvirian Pilgrims traveling along the infamous Stairs of Grief. Dyalne supported the King of Huxuth and gifted him a powerful relic to stay in power and dominate the nearby Orcish tribes and kingdoms. However, an Ilvirian hero known as Sabretooth unknowingly disrupted the well-laid plans. The human-appearing Ivashu created a conflict and a destructive war with the nearby Orcish Kingdom of Jobasa. Dyalne was forced to modify her plans.
