134340 Pluto (commonly called Pluto) is a dwarf planet located in the Kuiper Belt. It is named for the ancient Human Pluto, an underworld deity. Formerly the ninth planet of the Sol System, it was recategorised in 2006 CE by Earth's International Astronomical Union. Despite many calls to reinstate its former status, it remains a dwarf planet. It hosts a minor orbital of the Sol Habitat Complex, which sustains mining operations far into the Kuiper Belt, extracting ice and minerals from asteroids.
