Thragaphest
Thragaphest is located in central Volinsk at the point where the Sturmfang River splits off from the River Iulia. Because of the rivers and the granite cliff that overlooks their branching point, the city is effectively split into three sections. To the southwest lie a number of farms that benefit from the fertile soil, to the west is Lower Thragaphest that includes the middle class and common areas of the city; and to the north is Upper Thragaphest the art houses and wealthier districts. The most recognizable buildings in the Thragaphest skyline are the Spearlight Tower and The Phestiana (home to the Duchess).
Places of Note:
Thragaphest is home to all manner of masterwork craftsmen from carpenters to sculptors to cheese makers. Most renowned of all however, may be the Von Strausheim Luthiers, Frantisek Von Strausheim and Otto Von Strausheim, creators of the finest stringed instruments in all of Malatoria. The Von Strausheim family has been making masterwork musical instruments for generations and this has had a large impact on the Volinskian zeitgeist. The Fine Arts are a major source of pride for the people of Thragaphest. Its Theatre District is the home of many types of theatre (from puppets to shadow plays to opera), as well as music halls, cabarets, art galleries, and sculpture gardens. The Theatre District is also home to a number of fountains dedicated to the “goodly” Pantheonic Gods.

Guilds and Factions
More than any other of the major cities in Volinsk Thragaphest is unionized, with various groups banding together to lift the standard of living for all. They are a Musicians Guild, A Stonemasons Guild, A Farmers Guild, A Merchants Guild just to name a few.
History
For many years Thragaphest was ruled over by The Five Point Spear, a group of clerics devoted to Mal-Torak. During this time Thragaphest became an important military force in Volinsk. Twenty five years ago, however, the Five Point Spear were deposed by the current ruler, Duchess Duska Martinova. Although she gained control over the city through deceit and treachery, her rule has not been altogether bad for the people of Thragaphest. She has ushered in a new era of culture and enlightenment making Thragaphest not only the cultural seat of Volinsk, but arguably all Malatoria.
Geography
Thragaphest is located at the divergence of the Sturmfang River and The River Julia, surrounding a large hill of granite.
