Ruhalen

Born in Gneiss, Ruhalen was an evil fighter/mage who fled his home country in a quest to make a pact with Diabolic Forces. Eventually he made his way to the Donneshire Hills where he was involved in a construction accident that left him without the use of his legs. Confined to a wheelchair, he oversaw the reconstruction of Hedgecrook Manor and the protection of the Orphans of Hedgecrook Manor while the manor house's owner, Battis Hedgecrook was away.
Unfortunately for the orphans, while Ruhalen lorded over the manor he made contact with an Erinyes Devil who embroiled him in a diabolic plot involving major players in the 9 Hells. Together they used the innocent souls of a number of the orphans to infuse a strange skull shaped gem with malevolent power. The exact nature of this gem and reason for its use were never fully realized as Ruhalen (and the Erinyes Devil) were killed in combat with Battis Hedgecrook, Manfred Von HughGraven, and General Grak.
