Constantine is the capital city of the kingdom of Engle and was named in honour of a former Sorendenese Empress: Constantina. The city of Constantine straddles the various tributaries of the River Lyr where it enters the Eastern Sea on the southern border of Engle. The city straddles the seperate arms of the delta of the Lyr River, with the more established parts of the town built on the larger arms near the centre. The buildings tend to be large and sprawling rather than high and there is very little below-ground architecture because the water table is very close to the surface this close to the river and the sea. The city is made up of distinctly recognisable sections such as the Temple District, the Scholar's District (close to the School of Occult Studies), the King's Residence (which takes up the whole of a large island formed by the arms of the river, and the Docks (which covers the seaward end of several of the arms of the river).
