Laws of the City

This is a work in progress that I will add to as time goes by.

The following are the basic facts about the laws of Engle. These laws mainly apply to the capital city of Constantine and enforced irregularly elsewhere in the country.

1. Gambling: All forms of gambling are allowed in the city except with regard to competitions with weapons, which are covered by the laws on Jousting and Duelling.
2. Jousting and Duelling: Combat with weapons are allowed in the city only when sanctioned by both the Crown and the Temple of Mithra. A representative of both Crown and the Temple must be in attendance at such activities for them to be legal.
3. Weapons: The carrying of unsecured major weapons in the streets of Constantine is illegal without appropriate permission.
4. Theft of Property: Illegal. Offenders will be punished with flogging. Repeat offenders will have their dominant hand removed.
5. Treason against the Crown: Punishable by death.
