Levis Birds

While you might see various strange and unique things in the air around Levis, the most common aerial being is the bird. The following article is a list of many of the average birds around Levis that do not need their own article.

Rock Penguins
Known locally as the Kef-ke, the human name became popular after the human influx after Macus' arrival. It habitats the coastal area between the Digitos Mangroves, down past the Starfall River and into the southern coast. Eating mainly fish and crustaceans, they sometimes snack out for south bound Crabgi. With knee length wings and a muddy brown plumage, the unique thing about these birds is the fact that they often shed a decent amount of body fat during the warmer months, and that their beaks have hundreds of tiny teeth like spikes.
Greater Zuma Bird
Standing on long stilted legs on webbed feet, with green plumage, a long thing orange beak and black into deep purple wing tips. The greater zuma bird lives on and around the lake south of Vertus, and with a diet consisting of water worms, tadpoles and surface born insects, the Zuma has plumage that changes with the variety and health of its diet. Acting as a flock, the flock leader has the most vibrant plumage, the brightest purple wing tips representing the leader even if the growth of the bird is not as impressive or tall.
Demontails.
Invasive in the way the Frunctine are, these 5cm blighters are quick and nimble and on fire. Preferring to roost on lone trees, and in the middle of the plains of Levis, they have a fascination with the Glimmer of the world, attracted to the energy pulsing within. They roost in groups of 3 to 5, and should a fire break out they are quick to absorb the energy into themselves, gaining a massive burst of hyperactivity. Worshippers of Infertanis are currently researching a way to integrate the birds into the ecosystem rather than the proposed environmental restoration that comes with a more permanent removal of the demontail.
Western Brown Seamage and the Eastern Grey Seamage
The seamage species is a coastal and island bird (reaching the islands by stowing away on the many ships that plot Oceanus). With a white body and yellow webbed feet, both sub-species of bird live in loud clustered colonies. They are pericocal, with the western brown covering the coast up to the Digitos Mangroves, while the larger Eastern grey cover the rest of the northern and eastern coast of Levis. Battling for food with the winged lizards of Oceanus, they find strength in numbers and the sheer aggression they show any animal they think they can get one over on.
