Aquilinbe
With shimmering feathers, and vicious claws, what once could be the glare of the sun will soon turn into bloody ruin for the hawk's helpless prey.
Sporting from the forests south of Vertus , this bird is a predator with a very traditional method of hunting in an untraditional world. A dive bomber, the aquilinbe uses its speed and talons to snatch prey from the ground mid dive, spreading massive wings to pull up sharply before impact.
It's upper feathers sport a black and green patterning but shimmer with highlights of purple to mimic the colours of the forest this far south. While from below they sport pale blue plumage, that shimmers as if mimicking looking at the sun.

They sound so pretty. I love when birds can dive bomb and then pull up at the last minute.
