Fall of Rel Eteisus

"The only tale shared between the 'The Eight Crowns' and Augury scripture."

The Fall of Rel Eteisus is a foundational Ohdaufeen myth, explaining the origin, relationships, and behavior of several gods in the pantheon.

Summary

The Fall of Rel Eteisus involves several major Ohdaufeen, including the first mentions of Ygaul, Huereina, and Rel Eteisus in known lore. It serves as a foundational text for the Augury pantheon, explaining the relationships between the three Ohfjuren lineages (and while Bailum and Taopin later recover their relationship, Chaimut remains eternally untrusted after these events).   The tale delves into Chaimut's desire to attain power over his contemporaries, unfettered by the impact it may have on them. He manages to drive a rift between his brothers and their lineages while also setting the precedent that a god could fall to devilhood given the proper circumstances.   Within scripture, Chaimut observes a prophecy of an Ohdaufeen in his lineage being born to the domain of fate. This child would be capable of negating the influence of time, pushing Chaimut to manipulate the circumstances of this child's birth. One such manipulation involved the promotion of his daughter having a son with her cousin, Mitos. When Mitos's father Bailum became involved and rejected the relationship, Chaimut developed a plan with their brother Taopin to remove Bailum from the picture.   The plan would see Bailum forced into a battle with Milin Orphi, eventually getting caught in a storm and secluding them for generations together. Mitos grew mournful in his father's absence, driving him to accept Fei Invaru for consolation. Eventually, their son was born, and Chaimut took custody, imprisoning Rel Eteisus to assert control over fate. The manipulation drove Mitos further into depression while the other gods began remained ignorant to Chaimut's desires and actions.   As Rel Eteisus grew demoralized and refused to cooperate with Chaimut, Fei Invaru would be allowed access to calm her son. In her love for Rel Eteisus, Fei Invaru would show him Laminarum and the ecosystems she had sewn to inspire him. Rel Eteisus took the opportunity to flee, eventually being found and manipulated by Milin Orphi as a stand-in father figure. When Rel Eteisus returned to destroy Laminarum, Mitos vowed to take it upon himself to save his son- should the mission fail, he would slay Rel Eteisus. Taopin feared that Mitos would be unable to live up to such a claim, so he put his adopted son Ygaul to the task. The two gods fought Rel Eteisus, but it was Mitos who ultimately slew him after several attempts to deescalate the coming battle.   Mitos, as the eldest available member of his lineage in Bailum's absence, forsook Chaimut and his lineage for turning his son to darkness. Taopin became further estranged from his family due to his attempt to get revenge on Bailum for perceived past injustices. All the while, he grew closer to Ornjack, a universal architect he had previously betrayed.   Chaimut, furious by the failure, would have a new daughter with the domain of winter: Huereina. Born directly to winnow his daughter's beauty, Huereina was successful but failed to meet her father's desires. As punishment to both, he would eternally banish his daughters to the planes of Summer and Winter. Eventually, when Bailum returned from his contrived battle, he indicted Chaimut and sentenced him to an eternal punishment. Until the universe's end, Chaimut would live in the planes he had damned his daughters to, dragging them about Laminarum with all his strength.
