Milin Orphi (Mill-in Or-fee)
The Ancient Ithitar does not try to corrupt, for his shadow stands tall and stains the land itself. This is his design.
Devil of Depravity (a.k.a. The Ancient Ithitar)
The Ancient Ithitar
Milin Orphi is the devil of depravity, often referred to as the Ancient Ithitar. Patriarch of all Ithitar, it is Milin Orphi who bestows them with their vile nature. Throughout his disturbing tales of the Snow Rock Isles and the Augury, the chief devil spends his days basking in satisfaction over the moral duplicity he has asserted upon the universe since his creation, and Laminuarm is his newest challenge.
Few tales speak of Orphi's rise to power, but his plane of origin is known to be The Quells: a trait he shares with all other Ithitar. Over potentially millions of years, depravity and chaos were sewn into every strand of the plane's fabric. Upon growing bored with his home, it was gifted to Kowl Mortor with the task of subjugating it into a new order: a task left incomplete until the gruesome binding of the plane with his own body. Transformative tales are Milin Orphi's modus operandi, with each of his eight Inutherin generals undergoing abhorrent metamorphosis to better serve the needs of their master. As per Ithitari custom, Milin Orphi ordains each general with a second name upon proving themselves.
While humanity first knew Orphi as the Baron of the Orphi Gap, his history is truly far more extensive. With his location currently unknown, many live in fear of his ongoing machinations.
The Inutherin
Milin Orphi's influence is best seen in his interactions with his generals, each of whom dons the title of Inutherin. While any devil may prove themselves to another to gain their second name, Orphi's trials are fundamentally transformative. Scripture contains tales of each general's promotion and details the changes taking place, each of which is outlined in a different excerpt of "The Eight Crowns." From forcing them to cannibalize siblings to merging planes with their bodies, no Inutherin is free from the shackles of depraved sin.

The Orphi Reverence
During the The Rembrandtic Wars, cults dedicated to Milin Orphi began to appear. Initially, mortal devotion could be written off as a rumor. It was simple hysteria orchestrated to keep the masses entertained as brothers and sisters turned against each other. As time went on, rumors gave way to action: villages across all of Trinen lynched those who were accused of taking part in rituals related to Milin Orphi. As word of this hysteria spread, sympathy developed for those being killed. Many began to view Orphi as an agent against authority and worthy of tithes.
As each territory fell to the Saltkrigere Empire, Bailumism was spread far and wide. Many were educated on Milin Orphi, and as these supposed traitors were turned over to the government, they would be executed without so much as an investigation. The Saltkrigere wished to rule over a land of righteousness, and these precautions ensured the gods would shine brightly on the empire.
As small and independent villages were assimilated, their worship of Milin Orphi was halted, leading to unrest. Though worshippers of the Ithitar could be seen as contrarian, their concerns about religious freedom became a matter of national concern.
In this desire for religious freedom, Milin Orphi became the figurehead of various movements, all of which were eventually suppressed. This positive perspective of Milin Orphi as a figurehead of religious freedom is a movement known as the "Orphi Reverence."
