The Kaelian plains
The Kaelian plains are one of the largest expanses on Laeriss. Stretching across a huge portion of Kaelia, the Kaelian plains are some of the most fertile and flat lands on Laeriss. The soil and climate is perfect for growing large amounts of grain and rice which is exported from the plains for use in the central laeran cuisines. The plains are also home to the largest city in all of Laeriss, called Kemler. Many small farming towns also are scattered across the plains with its roaming sheep, cows, and other profitable animals.
Geography
The Kaelian plains are mostly flat, covered in grass with trees being very sparse and spread out. There are some small hills scattered across the plains but for the most part they are smooth, making them perfect for farming. The large Teriat river winds through the entirety of the Kaelian plains, coming from the Teriat lake on Dirn and being channeled through to Kaelia by the Teriat Canal.
Fauna & Flora
The Kaelian plains are quite fertile but they are not the most densely populated with large plants. Most of the plains are covered in all sorts of grasses, shrubs, and bushes. Occasionally common trees like sycamores will be sparsely located across the plains but they are quite rare. The plains do have quite a lot of animals though who feed on the plentiful grass. Cattle, rams, pigs, rabbits, buffalo and all sorts of grazing animals inhabit the large and open plains. Birds are are fairly common as well as animals like coyotes. Moles dig freely in the dirt and insects roam in the tall grasses, the plains are quite plentiful in their fauna population.
Natural Resources
The Kaelian plains are possibly one of the most profitable pieces of land on Laeriss. They may not look like much but the expansive and fertile farming land is worth quite a bit and can produce large amounts of food. Wild animals like sheep or cattle are commonly farmed for their profitable meat and animal products. Wool from the sheep can be fashioned into cloths and even full pieces of clothes to be sold for a profit. Things like milk, eggs, and other similar products are always valuable. The plains are essentially a farmers paradise and a goldmine for food, land, and animals.
