Robert E. Lee

Robert E. Lee was an American general and politician who served as the fifteenth Chancellor of America from 1862 to 1870. Having been educated at the American Royal Military Academy, he served under Sir Winfield Scott during the army. During his particular display of bravery during the Texas Rebellion, Lee was inducted into the Order of Louis Ferdinand.

During Lee's tenure, the Imperial Family of Mexico had been assassinated, including Empress Maria, duaghter of KingWilliam I. Lee agreed to military involvement in Mexico, which led to the brief installation of Miguel as Emperor of Mexico. However, he refused to come under demands from Congress to invade Cuba during the Cuban War for Independence.

Lee would also lead military efforts against the Sioux Nation in the Dakota War early on in his administration. With the victory of the American government over the Dakota people, many American politicians, including King William, wished for harsh punishment against the native populations. Lee, however, felt a sense of respect for the Native Americans, though still forced them to relocate to the Dakota territory. The American court system did not share this respect, and led to the largest mass execution in American history. Lee's efforts saw the number limited from the demanded sum. Regardless of the difference in opinions, Lee was further commended into the Order of the Janus Eagle, turning down an Earldom.

He passed away in 1870 while in the beginnings of campaigning for a third term.
