Order of the Rose

The Order of the Rose is an Order of Chivalry among the Kingdom of America. The Order was established by King William I at the behest of Queen Ana.

History

In 1848, following the Seneca Falls Convention, Queen Ana had a desire to recognize American women, and their contributions for to the culture. Before this, women were excluded from Orders of Chivalry in the Kingdom, King William agreed to create the Order, with Ana as the Matron, later that year. Upon the creation, Ana worked to fill its ranks, including Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Stanton. Ana's daughters, the Princesses Maria and Sophia, were each inducted into the Order.

Those in the Order are not granted the style of "Dame".
