Caretaker Angels

Caretaker angels, also known as household angels, are those who agree to look after a nephilim to ensure they come of age without issue. They often help tend to the needs of these nephilim and their mothers on behalf of the archangel who fathered the nephilim. Some remain with the family through multiple generations of nephilim. Caretaker angels should not be confused with guardian angels, as caretaker angels fulfill their duties willingly.

Career

Payment & Reimbursement

Caretaker angels require little financial compensation, as living in the mortal world as an angel is not difficult. However, the archangels who request an angel serves as a caretaker for their offspring ensure that all financial needs related to the raising of the nephilim are met.

Perception

Purpose

Caretaker angels began to be employed by archangels when the earliest nephilim were killed in unfortunate accidents or acts of violence. These angels were tasked with protecting the nephilim from harm and ensuring they reach the age of maturity when they come into their angelic powers, which is thirty. These angels also continue to guide the nephilim after that age to ensure they succeed in making great changes in the world, which is what the nephilim are created for.

Demographics

After the Fall of the Angels, most Blessed angels chose to spend little time on Earth among mortals. As a result, Fallen angels often have to be selected as caretakers for nephilim. This has not been an issue when the nephilim are created to accomplish a goal considered to be worthy by most Fallen, such as vanquishing certain demons. The Fallen have proven to be less willing to assist in raising nephilim to be religious leaders and prophets, however. This has caused these nephilim to be looked after by Blessed angels who do so with little enthusiasm.

Operations

Workplace

Caretaker angels are expected to go wherever their nephilim go, or to employ other angels to help them look after the nephilim. This is because danger may come at any time and all nephilim must be protected.

Dangers & Hazards

All caretaker angels must be willing to be vanquished if it means protecting the nephilim they have been tasked with protecting. Having another angel to assist them in looking after their nephilim ensures that all nephilim are protected, even if their main caretaker is temporarily vanquished.
