Whiteport College of Arcana
The seven gothic towers of the College of Arcana reach skywards far above the crowded and narrow city streets, while also keeping the college's mages well apart from the city proper to avoid potential collateral damage (as strange and powerful magical effects sometimes erupt out of the towers as a result of magical mishaps and experiments). The towers all rise from a gothic looking solid stone building, its buttresses crammed with gargoyles and stone carving, supporting high vaulted walls.
Purpose / Function
The College of Arcana serves as one of the premier places of magical learning in the Kingdom of Attika, attracting scholars and aspiring mages from all over the nine duchies. The College divides its novices based on which school of magic they specialize in- Abjuration, Conjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Evocation, Illusion, and Transmutation.
Architecture
The College of Arcana features a large central library, as well as a small communal dining area and kitchen. Rising from the high vaulted, gothic library are seven tall towers, each housing one of the schools of magic, with the resident expert's quarters and inner study on the highest floor of the towers, while novices, apprentices, and mages in the late stages of their training live on the lower floors of their respective tower and school.
