The Blanks

Government Spies & Informants

The Blanks are a secret arm of the Allegran government who covertly monitor the common citizenry and the more miserable or unruly. The Mansa is the absolute authority of the human capitals but the Blanks are the ones who keep their finger on the pulse of the city itself.

There are similar organizations that operate in the other human capitals but with the exception of the Mansa Desdemona Cleft and a few other powerful leaders, nobody could connect them to each other.

Structure

The Blanks are divided into two branches; Sub-rosa, which is tasked primarily with intelligence-gathering and networking, and Bellacose, the covert, action-oriented branch of the Blanks, who move against the more overt internal civil threats.

Both sections operate independantly and members rarely know of others within the organization, even within their own branch. Any necessary communication is done through ignorant intermediaries that pass coded messages without knowing the true meaning behind their words. These intermediaries are usually shady folk from the lower rungs of whichever class of people need to be involved. This is truly where the Blanks get their name from - they consistently and efficiently employ people who blend into their social surroundings. People who are easily overlooked and even more easily forgotten.

At their head, the Blanks are led by a heblin man named Kole Elbridge who was inducted into the ranks of the Blanks as a teenager, first serving as a messenger and informant, and later as a full member with missions involving gathering information, spying, and recovering stolen property. His identity is simultaneously a high-level government secret and the most widely known of all current members. Should anybody actually discover the existence of a covert government organization, find any sort of evidence of their actions, and somehow track it back to Kole, there is no possible scenario where the Blanks didn't learn about their efforts and squash it before any trouble began.

Assets

For decades the Blanks have kept secret and detailed files on important individuals, organizations, and events. These records are meticulously maintained and frequently updated through an arcane construct developed for the purpose based on the structure of the Dannamore signets.
