Queen Zelena Stellings
Zelena Stellings is the current Queen of Aurelia.
At the age of ten Zelena was the youngest of the Stellings family of Aurelia when the Aurelian Coup took place. She was able to flee through mysterious circumstances and go into hiding, the only member of her family to survive the coup.
Details of her life are sparse, but general knowledge holds that she grew up on the road until she was older. At which point she joined The Paladin Order. After completing her training and wandering as a Paladin for a few years she eventually returned to her home country at the age of 33 to reclaim her throne, which she successfully did after a bloody two year civil war.
Since then Zelena had ruled her nation fairly, and was well loved by her people. However she is not known for her warmth, and can be considered to be somewhat heavy handed.
During the Year of the Dragon, Stellings was one of the primary political and military leaders. She helped sponsor and knight The Wayfarers, participated and survived the Battle of Avolen, and helped lead the war as a major leader in the alliance against Aenophentari.
Following the Year of the Dragon Stellings went about the busy duty of rebuilding her kingdom after a war, and dealing with the increased trade and political contact with Jarak. While Aurelia and Jarak were enjoying new levels of trade, there was still a lot of remaining distrust after generations of Jarak giving The Gir'An weapons and armor. Bhelmir Strongheart helped smooth out the harder aspects of this relationship.
Relationship struggles aside, the decades since The Year of the Dragon have seen Stellings lead Aurelia to a mini-golden age, with unprecedented diplomatic clout and trading leading to the growth and prosperity of her nation.
Stellings is beginning to show her age, as all Humans do eventually. This has led to increased worries about succession as Stellings still has not chosen a successor nor married, nor could she have kids at this point in her life even if she wished to. Aurelian law allows he to adopt someone as her "child" to choose a successor, but she has yet to, leaving many to worry what would happen if she were to pass suddenly.
