Imperial Dominion of Spayle
Controlling the eastern regions of the Northern Continent, Spayle is a political superpower with the strongest trade in Kaldra - most of the world speaks their native language, Spanch, and they have the biggest port on the Northern Continent.
Spayle is an empire comprised of various factions. Because of this, its set up more diplomatically than most kingdoms. On paper, it resembles more of a republic with representatives from each "Great House" with voting and diplomatic privileges. In practice, this means every "representative" is a Noble - usually of their ancestry - and only uses their votes to get their way in the King's Court.
Structure
The Dominion has been ruled by the D'Spayle family since the unification. The extended family work in the Merchants Guild, the Governors offices, and are ambassadors to other kingdoms, but the King (or High Lord/High Lady as they are known in the Dominion) remains in Antonne, one of the Ancient Great Cities of Kaldra. This means he relies heavily on his family and advisors to keep him up to speed on current events, since his culture rarely allows him to leave the area. As High Lord, he is both Political and Judicial leader of Span'ce.
Should for some reason the High Lord ever become unwell, be captured, or die, the next in command is a council of three people: the "Prophet"; the spiritual leader, the "Protector"; the military leader, and the "Producer"; the financial leader. These three people are all advisors to the High Lord under normal circumstances and along with the High Lord make up the "Prime Senate", or leading council of the kingdom, with the High Lord having final say in all matters of state.
Each member of the Dominion (Eabrasia, Thesari, D'artlan, Wriston, Glourane, Luvoilian, Bastion, Hyvel, Alsalian, and The Praehedron Conglomerate) has a leader representing their county/duchy. These leaders are Dukes with Counts below them and Barons below them.
The Duke of Wriston, for example, oversees the entirety of the Wriston Plains from the standpoint of the Dominion. However, areas of Wriston are sectioned into smaller counties ran by Counts, and if those counties have a main municipality, it would be run by a Baron.
