Hashir al Faisal

Hashir al Faisal was originally a human wizard from Ahtiraq who devoted himself to the study of arcane magic. A minor figure in life, his contributions to academic journals never achieved prominence during his natural lifetime.   In undeath, he reigned as a powerful warlord in the north of Takawaoku. He bathed countless towns in blood, wreaking a crimson path through history and crafting some spells of a particular disgusting nature. Though occasionally his magics are still used today, all association with his name was lost when he was destroyed.   It is unknown how long, exactly, has passed since Hashir walked Istralar, but it was certainly prior to the 5300s. The centuries have not been kind to records, in the interim.

Personal history

I didn't exactly have a good father. He might've pretended to be one, when I was a child, but I don't think that man ever knew how to pretend at love.
— Naseem
He was taken under the wing of a prominent vampire in his early 30s, and when he began to impress, was promptly killed and turned into a vampire himself. His entrance into undeath was swift, dramatic, and ultimately a boon for him. Life had not been productive for Hashir, but undeath was different. By his second century of life, he'd killed his sire and risen as his own bloody star in the world of necromancy.   Hashir always aimed to control his forces through family ties. Though he deliberately fathered few himself, he made a habit of seducing those he saw as sympathetic or easily exploitable, and took control of their lives with practiced ease. When a new child was born under his control, he would kill their father and see that the child was raised to love and obey him. They were given normal childhoods, mostly, for he knew this would make them better servants in undeath. Naseem Samawi was a star among these children, and came to be recognised as one of his father's most prized possessions.   After centuries of torture, domination, and abuse, Hashir's end came at the brutal hands of death-wielding psychopomps and a veritable army of their mortal followers. Naseem had finally breached his father's twisted control and sought the peace of death, but not without first ending the torment Hashir embodied.   His eyes found Naseem in the darkness, as spectres of Death forced him, finally, to kneel. His last scream was one of fury and betrayal, never once repenting for the damage he had wrought. His legacy was left to die an ungraceful death as the world moved on without him, and his name would be forgotten entirely by history were it not for Naseem's eventual resurrection.
