Emperor of the Aletheian Empire

The Emperor of the Aletheian Empire is the most powerful ruler in their empire, and indeed, one of the most significant figures of power throughout the entirety of Istralar. As the being directly responsible for all aspects of the Empire's operations, from military to diplomacy to simple day-to-day logistics, they carry a heavy burden. It is only through the assistance of their inner circle - most frequently known as the Royal Council - that they can alleviate some of this burden.
The title of Emperor passes down from eldest child to eldest child, regardless of their gender. The only criteria are that they must be of outsider blood, and that they must not have brought significant shame to the Empire within their adulthood. They may also elect to remove themselves from the succession, often due to their other duties: Princess Andrala of Aletheia, for instance, withdrew citing her devotion to her deity.
Lord Andron of Undria was removed from the succession most recently due to - supposedly - his marriage to the tiefling Lady Ceridwen Undria. Despite his removal, his children were still eligible. His eldest son, Aneirin, ascended to the throne upon his grandfather's death in 5625.
As the current Emperor, Aneirin, has yet to produce issue, his heir and the potential future Empress of Aletheia is currently Princess Ashlyn Alarian.
