PDRMN Home Fleet

A generally defensive fleet that is stationed in Mars and shows off the power of Mars to visiting fleets and people. Has most of the newest ships for breaking them in while still close to home and repairs. This fleet is also charged with patrolling and visiting whatever sixth of the asteroid belt is nearest during the tour of duty. The final duty of the fleet is of course the protection of Mars, and they are effectively the last line of defense before Mars proper.
On a more fun note, this fleet is responsible for the crewing and upkeep of 2 special ships, a refitted cruiser and battleship that serve to transport important politicians around. The cruiser is generally used for travelling to places in the PDRM, while the battleship is used on the rare occasions when a trip outside of the PDRM is needed by the president or prime minister.

Logistics

Logistical Support

Due to the fleet being almost entirely based around Mars itself, logistical support is rarely an issue. One interesting fact is that the smaller craft are typically connected with pylons to allow for spin gravity between them. These can quickly be disconnected if the need arises.

Auxilia

There are approximately 1000 Espatiers onboard the various ships of this fleet, as well as all the Espatiers on the ground or in Aleph Station.

Upkeep

Because this fleet does not move as much as the others, its fuel cost are significantly lower than typical.

Recruitment

The troops for this fleet are generally of middling experience, and it is seen as a rather cushy position, often used as a reward for service.

History

Technically the first fleet in the navy, this was the first area that was patrolled by the fledgling PDRMN.
