Mesodo

"The Middle Way," a relatively sheltered and calm stretch of the Pyrmar running right between the two main island "arms" of the archipelago. This "strait" of sorts provides ships the most safety against weather and oceanic hazards in the region. It forms a corridor starting near southwest Ieros between Pelekys and Xyria, proceeding in a gently winding arc hundreds of leagues to the north past Krypteia, and then terminating near the Karanos Strait  between the Makrys Peninsula and southern Nubir near Akhen and Senemet. 
Pelekys, Xyria, and Krypteia all regularly attempt to put down rampant piracy in the strait. An increase in the fervor of this patrol action, and a desire assert dominance over the Mesodo in the process, prompted the Kervelos war of the last five years.
