Welcome to Iroa, an ancient world of swords and sandals, pegasi and medusae, sand and sea, meddling gods and valiant heroes! This is a mythic era, bronze-age setting - and also primarily a "furry" setting. We are not directly playing in "alt history" Greece, Egypt or India, but those are the strongest influences on the world of Iroa - especially the former.
This is a sequel campaign to our previous mythic campaign, which began and ultimately ended in the polis of Krypteia. However, only a couple of you were in that campaign, and that's fine. It is a little over a century later, and the world has moved on a bit. What happened before was important in many ways in shaping the course of events to come, but you don't need to know any of it. In the short term, the most immediate impact was on some of the poleis of the Firesea region, including places your characters might come from, and in a disruption of the pantheon. But the state of those poleis and of the pantheon as they stand today are what is relevant to this campaign, not how they stood in the prior campaign.
See
Campaign Premise for the lowdown on the start of the campaign. We are about to take a trip to the
Zafer Valley, and the new settlement ofÂ
Achlys, one particular corner of this untamed world, where a new colony is being established, and your characters are a part of it...
When we get down to creating characters, you're going to want to see the
House Rules, the
Races
section, the
Classes
section, the
Origin section, and the
Deities and Religions
section. If you end up playing a martial character, you will also care about
Martial Exploits!
Also, make sure every character has
Connections to at least two other player characters. You can come up with your own, or use the ideas on that page for guidance!
