Personal history
Steve Manosham was an unusual child, not for any particular magical or physical talent, nor did it seem that he was inordinately smart, it seemed that he was just simply bad at everything he tried. At first it was thought that he was just a stupid kid, but when he slipped down rough wooden stairs as if they were greased, the first talks of the supernatural began. This was only furthered when, at the age of eight, Steve was chased, while he was bawling his eyes out, by a large dog, that he managed to evade by scaling a five story building from the outside.
As the years went by events like this kept occurring, until he was picked up by David Ansuranth and his mining crew, as surely if they kept Steve at hand he would allow them to evade cave ins. Plus, David thought, someone needs to give the kid a break, as he had not managed to gain any meaningful employment. Sure enough, when a cave in occurred, somehow Steve managed to through entire boulders over his should as he cried his eyes out, tunneling through the debris to escape.
When the rest of the deep mining crew were gathered over the years, each found Steve a little odd, however they quickly came to appreciate his supernatural fear, and began to devise ways they could use it to their own advantage. When the five of them, Steve, David, Weston, Samiel and Marrin finally went on their first Deep Dive, Steve seemed unnaturally calm, though he explained that he felt really safe in his full suit of plate armour. This feeling would not last, however, as the party would encounter a purple worm, something way out of their ability to fight. Feeling terrified by it, and by the the fact that the worm was between them and the drop pod, Steve went in swinging, trying to get over the damn thing to freedom, however he managed to lodge his blade in the right spot so, as the large mass of a man in plate was suddenly above and pushing down on the blade, it sank in deep, severing an important nerve cluster and killing the beast.
