Session 28: Return of the King

General Summary

DATE: 13/07/241-17/07/241

• Party prepares for the coming battle
• Lohren and Bubba buy some magic items
• Grimmie tells Steve they are brothers and shows him the mutagenic unraveling
• Jarran makes some potions and confides in his Grandfather that he might stow away the Rifle after the coming battle
• Grimmie makes a Variable Simulacrum; it lasts 30 days, can be deactivated and turned into sand to reduce time spent
• Khontu Yuest has managed to figure out how to prevent the LOTUS from growing exponentially via a magical pulse
• Garik, Weeping Steve & Baarra are recruited to aid the party in their assault, while Yohanan remains ready and willing
• Manachan explains the plan on the 16th that a large scale assault on the Inheritor stronghold will be conducted as a distraction while three strike teams, including Dawn's Call, teleport in and recover the Arcane Cores
• Also provides the party with magical rings that, when all party members are touching each other, teleports them back to the teleportation circle
• After a few rounds of buffing themselves the party are teleported in, beginning a fight that nearly claims both Grimmie and Bubba
• A Warden, Captain, four Mages and eight Wytchguard attempt to stop the party, but are unsuccessful
• The Arcane Core is recovered and the Party return to Manachan, though not before recovering some journals and destroying remaining research
• Moving through the war torn streets, taking out a few mages on the way, the party arrive at the fortified King's Square and install the core
• They quickly return and grab another core from a strike team that took a lot of damage, returning to see the Siraens start to be overrun
• After the second core is placed within, it flares to life for a moment before the entire Tomb shuts down, telling Grimmie that either the Crescent King is dead or has ended his slumber
• A half-elven man stumbles towards Grimmie and Jarran who speak to him, hearing that he wants a weapon to fight with, to which Grimmie retrieves the two Temple Blades embedded in the Tomb
• The man imparts thanks to Grimoire and saunters over towards the fighting, gaining strength with every step, with Ariadna yelling over the din of combat 'THE KING HAS RETURNED!'
• Hearing this and seeing their chosen monarch fight alongside them grants the defenders a second wind, allowing them to push the foe out of the square
• Strange groups of individuals start to teleport into the square, Rhonnor Mercenaries, Crild warriors, Erunur Warforms and others from all across the world, all baring the symbol of the Azure Crown
• Manachan is informed of this as he asks for the party to return for their second strike, which he immediately spreads amongst the Siraens
