Personal history

Abandoned before the age of 4, Ravaphine had been living on the streets of her town. She slept outside, snuck in showers with stolen water from horse troughs, and made a living from mindless tasks like selling fruit at a stand for local farmers. Often times she found solace at the library where she would spend hours looking at picture books and maps and encyclopedias. Sometimes she fell asleep in the corner with a book clutched to her chest. Sadly illiterate, she befriended the "librarian" at the age of 10 who noticed that she was getting frustrated not being able to understand the scripts. This librarian was a wizard, a stout tricentenarian arcane gnome named Alugani Welwyse with the knowledge to fill 700,000 books, or so she claimed. The librarian took pity on the child, and offered her home to her, which was right underneath the library.
100 years passed in the blink of an eye. Ravaphine had learned thousands of years worth of knowledge because once the librarian taught her how to read, she devoured every text that she came across. Throughout the years, she also learned spell casting from her adoptive wizard mother, albeit it was not like they teach in the colleges, but she was happy.

Education

Taught by Alugani Welwyse, she had a broad, eclectic education that included the use of arcane magic. Ravaphine's age and naivety shines through with her impulsivity, even if it's not on purpose. She is not a typical classically trained wizard, which sometimes results in the lack of discipline when it comes to spellcasting. But she does have a big heart and would do anything to help her mother or friends. Failure is a big fear for her which results in a lot of internal conflict.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

She feels inferior for never attending wizarding school and would like to have a classic education to feel more legitimate as a wizard.

Social

Family Ties

Her mother, Alugani Welwyse, was once part of a powerful family in Rodoza. She ran away after a falling out and set up a bookstore in Rauvi. She was also part of a secret anti-government group and was arrested after a botched demonstration led to multiple deaths. Dawnguard managed to capture the cause of the trouble and traded his life for hers.

Flaws
Darkvision: Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim Conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in Darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in Darkness, only shades of gray.
Keen Senses: You have proficiency in the Perception skill.

Fey Ancestry: You have advantage on saving throws against being Charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.

Trance: Elves don’t need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is “trance.”) While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After Resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.

ARCANE RECOVERY: You have learned to regain some of your magical energy by studying your Spellbook. Once per day when you finish a Short Rest, you can choose expended Spell Slots to recover. The Spell Slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than half your wizard level (rounded up), and none of the slots can be 6th level or higher

BENIGN TRANSPOSITION:
Starting at 6th level, you can use your action to teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space that you can see.
Alternatively, you can choose a space within range that is occupied by a Small or Medium creature. If that creature is willing, you both teleport, swapping places. Once you use this feature, you
can’t use it again until you finish a long rest or you cast a conjuration spell of 1st level or higher.
