Seirixori and Enna as they exit the tavern. Urrak disappears halfway down the steps to the basement.

Cyan, this is the mastermind behind this whole catastrophe. Meet Poni:"
[9:24 PM] DM: Poni: "Are you finished with your nonsense and ready to get back to, I don't know... saving the world? Or at least this pointless little village?"
[9:25 PM] DM: Cyan: "He's... everything you said he was."
[9:25 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "And more!"

[9:28 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "The people in that village may object to your designation of them as pointless, stick-man. They are living lives there. Building a community. That's not something to balk at."
[9:30 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Poni please take us to the next destination of the component. We all need to be holding each other in some fashion so we don't get left behind..." Ravaphine says as she looks shyly over to Cyan
[9:32 PM] DM: Cyan: "So you've said... several times." She winks at Ravaphine, teasing her.
[9:33 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: Ravaphine pushes the button
[9:34 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: She reaches her hand out towards Cyan with a hopeful smile on her face "This is where it gets interesting"
[9:33 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Well, time to get cozy, friends." Brimeia claps her arms around the nearest two ladies
[9:37 PM] DM: Cyan shakes her head and allows Brimeia to grab her as well as taking Ravaphine's outstretched hand.
[9:35 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna stares down Brimeia. "One of these times I'm going to have a dagger out when you do that, and you're not going to like my reflex."
[9:35 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: ((but wait is that the hint of a smile on Enna's face oops))
[9:36 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "Are you saying you mind it?" Brimeia flashes a grin and a wink.
[9:36 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Seirixori steps out of range of Brimeia and places a hand lightly on Enna's shoulder, "you only need to touch one of us."
[9:36 PM] DM: The space above the base of the teleportation object sizzles to life, surrounded by wild magic. Oddly you're not looking at a component at all. Instead, the circle is focused on an odd creature, raven-like in form but with arms and hands instead of wings and the size of a small human. It's walking through a crowded street and you can see the sign of a unicorn in a cauldron over the door it enters.

[9:43 PM] DM: Poni: "It must have the component on it. There's no other reason for it to be in the portal."
As you watch, the Kenku ducked into a back room and slipped behind a false wall and is now walking down a dark corridor.
[9:44 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "So, are we going or just...watching?"
[9:44 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Welp," Ravaphine takes a deep breath, "Shall we?"
[9:44 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "Let's go."
[9:44 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: She makes sure everyone is hanging on to each other before putting Poni through the portal
[9:46 PM] DM: The scene around you changes from Poni's basement to an alleyway. There's piles of trash and rather large rodents that scurry out of your way as you appear. You can see people walking by and the usual chatter that comes from such a mass of people.

[9:47 PM] DM: Cyan: "This is very interesting indeed."
[9:47 PM] DM: It's day, but that's all you can tell from where you are.
[9:48 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: Ravaphine puts Poni safely back in her bag. "We need to watch out for that Kenku"
[9:48 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "At least it's not a veritable graveyard this time."

[9:53 PM] DM: You head out towards the crowded street and you notice that it's a bustling city with tall buildings (for their era) and winding cobblestone roads. Most people are walking swiftly, often ducking into or out of the buildings.

[9:55 PM] DM: You can make Perception checks to see if you can see the building's sign or the kenku.

[9:56 PM] DM: Though none of you notice the sign itself, you do notice that the buildings around here are of the same style as the building you saw in the portal.
[9:57 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: Ravaphine approaches one of the passers-by and asks if they have seen a place with the sign in question
[9:57 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "Where did that damned thing go..or more importantly, where did we end up?"
[9:59 PM] DM: The first person to stop is a woman, middle-aged. "A unicorn? Only thing I know like that is the next street over." She points in the direction across the street from you and continues on her way.
[9:59 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "I guess we're headed to that direction"
[9:59 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "She was more helpful than Poni."

[10:00 PM] DM: There are several painted signs with different symbols on them. In a world where not many common folk can read, signs with symbols are used to explain what the buildings are for. You can see this is a sort of market area. Several signs are showing goods that are likely for sale.
[10:01 PM] DM: The woman seemed like she was in a rush, but she's already gone back into the crowd.
[10:01 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Seirixori starts heading in the direction the woman pointed out.

[10:03 PM] DM: You push your way through the crowd and into another busy street.

[10:04 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: Ravaphine scans the area to see if the unicorn sign is anywhere near
[10:04 PM] DM: The signs here are a bit less literal, some are even clearly not what is actually offered, and you do see the sign with the unicorn ahead and down the street.

[10:06 PM] DM: You don't recognize anything specifically, it's not a place you've been, but it does have the same kind of big-city energy that you recognize from the time you visited

[10:10 PM] DM: You head in that direction and, glancing in the window at the front, you can see that inside are several potions on display.

[10:11 PM] DM: People walking towards you part at the sight of you, unaccustomed to people who look like you.

[10:14 PM] DM: Inside, you do see potions of several different colors and effects. You can recognize a few that look like the potions of healing that you found in the mansion.

[10:30 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: Ravaphine makes eye contact with Brimeia and tilts her head towards the back room ever so slightly
[10:31 PM] DM: He draws himself up, insulted. "I make quite good money, thank you, and I'm good at my craft. I'm going to have to ask you to leave since you think so little of my wares."

[10:33 PM] DM: Seirixori's words come out smooth as butter and the man turns and smiles at her. "It's quite alright. Can I help you with something else?"
[10:33 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia, seeing Ravaphine's look and noting Seirixori's efforts to step in, moves herself to block the storekeeper's line of vision to Ravaphine as best she can
[10:34 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Seirixori moves away from the group, as best she can, "Is there possibly something worth more in the back, that perhaps you aren't showing here in your lovely store-front?"
[10:34 PM] DM: Man: "Oh, no, we don't keep things in the back. Everything I have is out front."
[10:38 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna looks at Seirixori, a vague sense of distaste on her face on the use of the charm, but relieved the man's hackles are down. She starts moving toward the back, taking advantage of his attention on Seirixori
[10:38 PM] DM: At this point, a woman comes into the shop. A bit ragged and looks like she's been sleeping in the streets for the last couple days. She stops short, stammers out an apology and backs out of the store, leaving the way she came in swiftly.

[10:40 PM] DM: The back room is empty save for a few crates.

[10:48 PM] DM: The woman is a bit skittish and jolts when she sees you approach. "Please, I don't mean no harm."
[10:49 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Hello, I don't mean any harm. I just saw you poke into the potions shop and leave. I wanted to ask if you were okay" Ravaphine asks the woman(edited)
[10:50 PM] DM: Woman: "I'm sorry, ok? I didn't mean-- you're... you're not looking for me, are you?"
[10:51 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "No ma'am, I'm just a visitor. My name is Ravaphine," she offers her hand to shake. "are you from around here and people are following you?" she asks(edited)
[10:51 PM] DM: She shakes her head. "Not from here, no, and... I don't think they're looking."
[10:53 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "I know this will sound odd...but were you by any chance doing something one minute and suddenly you were transported to a different place?"
[10:53 PM] DM: The woman looks up at you, wide-eyed. "Yes, yes that's exactly what happened. ....what happened?"
[10:55 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "I'm going to be completely transparent and say that's exactly what happened to me. I was just traveling when suddenly I turned up into a different town. Have you heard of a place called
Bellbury?" Ravaphine questions the woman
[10:56 PM] DM: The woman nods. "That's where I'm from. I came here and then... this... this creature told me I needed to help him, but I couldn't. He took everything I had as "payment" for not helping him."
[10:58 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "I'm so sorry to hear that," Ravaphine says sincerely, " I can help you back home to your town, if you could like to accompany my group. You could help us"
[10:59 PM] DM: Woman: "I'm not sure I'd be much help, but if I could get home, that would be great."
[11:00 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "What is your name? I'll introduce you to the group. By the way, did you happen to come across anything metallic and shiny?"
[11:00 PM] DM: Woman: "My name's Calley. Calley Gazzo. And I did... I had one, but it was taken by the creature."
[11:03 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "It's nice to meet you Calley. I will get you back home, I promise. Let's go back to the others" ravaphine says, while looking at the woman to make sure she seems trustworthy

[11:04 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: Ravaphine and Calley head back to the shop and peer inside the window to see if any of her companions are still inside, but notices half of them are gone

[11:05 PM] DM: Cyan's talking to the shopowner at the front of the building, but everyone else appears to be gone.
[11:06 PM] DM: You don't see another doorway.
[11:08 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "It looks like my party already is on the move. Did you happen to get a good look at the creature?" ravaphine asks the woman
[11:09 PM] DM: Calley: "It looked like a bird? A human with feathers and a bird's face? Or a really big bird with arms?"
[11:09 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Does he have any magic or other strengths?"
[11:10 PM] DM: Calley: "He talks strangely, but I don't know anything else. He took my things at knife point."
[11:11 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "What did he need help with?"
[11:12 PM] DM: Calley: "He wanted to get into a tower. He's trying to find something at the top of it, but we couldn't get past the first room. It didn't have a door."
[11:14 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Did you have any tools to help him? Is that why he took you?"
[11:14 PM] DM: Calley: "No. I don't know why he wanted me to help."
[11:18 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "I see. Let's get you back home then." Ravaphine takes Poni out of her bag to try to teleport back to the basement
[11:18 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: She reaches for Calley's hand and pushes the button
[11:18 PM] DM: Calley: "Are you going to get my things back?"
[11:18 PM] DM: Ravaphine and Calley appear in Poni's basement.
[11:19 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "What are you missing?"
[11:19 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "I will try my best to retrieve your items but this man seems dangerous"
[11:19 PM] DM: Calley: "Not much, but he took my coin purse and my locket. It's the only thing I have left from my mother."
[11:20 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "I will look for it Calley. Where can I meet you again to deliver if I can find them?"
[11:21 PM] DM: Calley: "I... don't know. Where should I wait?"
[11:22 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "The tavern. We will be back okay? I promise. Is there anything I should keep in mind when approaching the bird dude?"(edited)

[11:25 PM] DM: The portal appears. It shows a dark room with a wall of safes across the wall.
[11:25 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Is this where the others are, poni?"
[11:30 PM] DM: Poni: "That is where the component is. Those imbeciles you call 'friends' are somewhere nearby."
[11:27 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: Ravaphine walks through the portal
[11:30 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: Ravaphine shoves poni in her bag again
[11:34 PM] DM: When you put Poni through the portal, you appear on a crowded road again. Luckily, it's familiar and you think you can find your way back to the potion shop.
Back to the potion shop
[10:41 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "Actually, maybe you can explain to me what these potions over here are," Seirixori points to the potions by the window, to pull him away from the others.

[10:43 PM] DM: The man points to one, yellow with an eye floating in it. "This is a potion of clairvoyance."
[10:44 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: ((15 investigation)), searching the room thoroughly
[10:44 PM] DM: Man: "It will let you see a place you know from a distance."
[10:44 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: ((should i roll a stealth check in here too))
[10:45 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "Hm, interesting. Anything about locating people?"
[10:45 PM] DM: Enna finds the false wall. It's a panel that pops open if you press on it the right way.
[10:47 PM] DM: Man: "Locating people? Hmm.... I don't think I have anything for that currently. You might need a wand or rod for that. Khairi down at the Pixie might have something like that."
[10:48 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna heads back toward the door to the back room and pokes her head out, motioning to Brimea to come in
[10:49 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia catches Enna's movement and looks over, though she does her best not to make any sudden or obvious movement herself aside from a subtle nod.
[10:49 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "I will have to try them later then, anything else up here in his window? I'm sorry, I really only know healing potions." Seirixori asks the man.
[10:50 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia tries to catch Seirixori's eye and then tips her head toward Enna, waiting a moment before tiptoeing that way
[10:50 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna whispers to Brimea "Get back here"
[10:50 PM] DM: Man: "Healing we have a lot of. They're my specialty," he adds with a wink.

[10:55 PM] DM: Cyan steps in and puts her hand on the man's shoulder. "Healing, you say? I can do a bit of healing myself. Why don't you tell me about how you make them?" She winks at Seirixori with a jerk of the head.

[10:55 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: Seirixori nods and walks out of his sight, "Oh thank gods," she whispers to herself.
[10:57 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna presses the panel, her off hand fingering her shortsword in anticipation for what lay on the other side of the wall.
[10:57 PM] DM: The man goes into a deep conversation with Cyan about how he prepares his potions.
[10:58 PM] DM: Enna presses open the panel, and you can see a dark tunnel.

[11:02 PM] DM: It's dark. Dark enough that you can only see the 60' allowed by your darkvision. It appears to be much longer than that, though... but there, at the edge of your hearing, you can hear the click click click of sharp footsteps coming towards you.

[11:06 PM] DM: There is the glow of a light coming up the tunnel as well.

[11:10 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia takes her position, crouched behind a crate, hiding as best she can.
[11:11 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna ducks behind a crate as well
[11:11 PM] DM: You can hear the click click click of a pair of footsteps, like a person wearing stiletto heels on the stonework getting closer.
[11:13 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "....Fuck. Damn city, damn doors." Enna realizes she should probably close the entrance wall and jumps up to hit the panel again, then retreats to her spot behind the crate(edited)

[11:14 PM] DM: The footsteps stop on the other side of the panel and the door comes open just a bit.
[11:15 PM] DM: The door swings open just enough for the kenku to squeeze through, shutting the door behind it.
[11:15 PM] DM: The two of you in the back room, roll stealth again?

[11:17 PM] DM: He turns around and spots Brimeia's tail sticking out of the side of the crates. He draws his rapier and points it in that direction. "I can see you. Come out." His voice is odd, it sounds like three different people speaking a couple words at a time before allowing someone else to speak.
[11:19 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia stands up and shrugs, "Ha, yeah, ya caught me. Was just looking for the facilities and got a bit lost." Brimeia laughs nervously

[11:21 PM] DM: The kenku looks at you curiously. "There are no facilities here. Why were you here?" Again, his voice sounds like different people, except this time, he says facilities in your voice, exactly the same way you did.
[11:22 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna sneaks up behind the kenku, her shortsword drawn, and attempts to grab and disarm him from behind with her sword against his throat.

[11:24 PM] DM: The kenku spins around when he hears the crates behind him shift and when he opens his mouth, you hear a siren.
[11:26 PM] DM: Seirixori, you hear the siren in the back and the man in the storefront spins around as well.
[11:27 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "Well, that obviously went so well," Seirixori turns to the back and carefully peeks around to see inside.
[11:31 PM] DM: The kenku sees he's surrounded and disengages, ducking into the main storefront.
[11:31 PM] DM: Seirixori! You can see the kenku, rapier drawn, coming into the store from the back room.(edited)
[11:32 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "Is there need for a weapon?" She asks slowly taking out her staff, not sure about her companions on the inside only hearing a siren sound. Seirixori readies Thorn Whip if he moves towards the door.(edited)
[11:35 PM] DM: The man at the front looks a bit alarmed. " Coin? What's happened? Why are you sounding alarm?"
[11:36 PM] DM: Cyan also looks a bit caught off-guard, but draws her rapier, just in case, readying to defend herself.

[11:37 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna chases after the kenku, entering the main shop room with her shortsword drawn
[11:37 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: She casts Hunter's Mark, preparing for a fight
[11:39 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna says to the kenku, "Where does that tunnel lead?"
[11:39 PM] DM: Brimeia!
[11:43 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: Brimeia follows Enna into the main room and bellows at the birdman, "Where's the magic shard?!"
[11:43 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: She readies her greataxe in case of an attack.

[11:44 PM] DM: Ravaphine! Makes her way 6 seconds closer to the shop.
[11:46 PM] DM: The kenku looks around and sees it's surrounded. "You can't have it. It's mine. It's safe. You can't have it." The voices for the "you can't have it" are the same, but again, it sounds like it's using someone else's words, discordant and with odd inflection.
[11:46 PM] DM: Seirixori
[11:47 PM] Felicia - Seirixori: "Tell us where it is and how to get to it and we'll let you go." She tries to intimidate him to give up the info.

[11:49 PM] DM: Kenku: "You can't get it. It's safe. Only I can. You help, you get (magic shard?!) in pay." The phrase 'magic shard' is shouted as Brimeia had.
[11:50 PM] DM: The man steps forward. "Coin, these are friends. Are you in trouble?"
[11:50 PM] DM: Cyan holds back.
[11:50 PM] DM: Enna?
[11:51 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna says to the Kenku, "It's safe. Safe from what?"
[11:52 PM] DM: Kenku: "Safe from you. From thieves. From anything. It's mine now."
[11:52 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "You said help. Help with what?"
[11:54 PM] DM: Kenku: "Calley said she'd help to pay me. She didn't help. I took MAGIC SHARD?! for pay. You help, you have MAGIC SHARD?! instead."
[11:54 PM] DM: (Calley is said in a woman's voice.)
[11:55 PM] DM: Ravaphine appears at the doorway.
[11:55 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: "Who is Calley?"
[11:56 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "Calley is the woman who he harassed and kidnapped. He took all her belongings"
[11:57 PM] DM: Kenku: "Calley said she could help but needed money."
[11:58 PM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "What do you want from us?"
[11:58 PM] DM: The man steps forward with his arms up. "Please, everyone put your weapons away. We are all friends here."
[11:58 PM] Leigh- Enna Meliamne: Enna turns to the shopkeep "What is he talking about? What are you hiding down that tunnel?"
[11:59 PM] Kyris - Brimeia: "We just want the broken magic thing. Let us have it and we'll be on our way."
[11:59 PM] DM: He looks away for a moment, conflicted, but says, "It's an entry to the Darkroses."
[12:00 AM] DM: Anyone who likes can roll history.

[12:03 AM] Felicia - Seirixori: "I don't see why we can't try. Any objections?"
[12:03 AM] Jaymes - Ravaphine: "It must be locked away for a reason. Maybe to keep it away from you"
[12:04 AM] DM: Shopkeep: "Master Bakar was his... friend, I guess you could call it. He had an accident. Blew out half his tower."
Kenku: "Yes, yes. He had my ring. I want it back, but tower is locked."
